A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

Cheers all!

what about www.alex-and-co.co.uk/product.php?cat=Dresses&id=97630440 this one?

teafortwo · 09/02/2009 23:08

Sees xhat Donk is passing over to Unis and nods with enthusiasm -

Oh yes, yes, yes Unis calamine is perfect!!!

When preggy with dd I itched constantly and found it to be the absolute and only cure - I hope it helps boy too.

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 23:09

or www.alex-and-co.co.uk/product.php?id=97340815 this top and matching skirt below the main pic?

Sorry, will stop now - am looking for things I like (and this website seems to have some excellent deals!) which aren't necessarily to anyone else's taste!

teafortwo · 09/02/2009 23:16

www.lkbennett.com/products/sale/saleclothing/saleclothingdresses/tiny/pid-29593red

On the hanger it looks Grannyish but on it is really rather special! Timeless sexy, I suppose...

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 23:18

I wonder about this

Donk · 09/02/2009 23:19

What's that snoring?
Oh, it's me...
Perhaps I'd better go back to my stable for the night!
I hope boy makes a swift recovery UniS.

zazen · 09/02/2009 23:22

Oh the Pox!
poor lil one. Callmine is the Devil's work you know. Much better just to moisturise them with a zinc ointment like sudocreme or a nourishing one like calendula - as advised to me by other MNetters.
Calamine helps the poxes dry out and itch and make a big scar enhancing scab IMHE! Piriton or Zirtec is great for reducing the itches. Teedex also has an antihistamine in as well as the paracetamol if he's fevery.

Thanks for the little rabbit with pancake - he's a lovely ikkle thing

I'm parched for some of that fizzy stuff if there's any going: and amazingly Donk's hay has no effect of my sneezles. Amazing!

Did any of you see that huge moon - no not mellors the one outside, in space? Our snow has melted here, but I'm betting it looks amazing against a snowy landscape.

We have a porridge eating competition with DD in the morning - who can neck their brekkie first!
She wins! obviously and

I have no advice re clothes - I wear a uniform of trews / jeans and a top / shirt and a sweater. With a big coat and boots for outside. I'm a 'spring' apparently - trying to remember what that meant..

Of course I potter in my dressing gown if I feel the need (usually) to have a second coffee with a slice of my home baked yeast bread at the weekend...

And here's some I prepared earlier..
anyone fancy a slice?
I'm getting quite good at yeast bread now - I love punching all the air out!! who knew?

www.east.co.uk/p/clothing_boiled%20wool%20jackets/ss09200641385.htm On the basis of the fact that I couldn't wear this because it would emphasise the assets that I have which I would rather not draw attention to - this might be rather good and could be nice to dress up a plainish dress.

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 23:25

ah calamine lotion - I remember that from the time I fell asleep in the sun while "revising" for my O levels (age alert!) and my mum put calamine on my burns - next morning I woke up and rubbed the slight itch on my chest and burst the whole blister, all the way across. Calamine dried the skin out and made it fragile. If I had used after sun/nivea/almost anything that wasn't calamine, I wouldn't have been in such a state! never used it again - used nivea hand cream and then after sun to make sure no dryout occurred.

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 09/02/2009 23:26

Sorry, Donk, I guess fashion might be a bit tricky for you, what with the tail and the hooves. Apologies if we have bored you. Perhaps tomorrow we should look at seed catalogues to plan this year's carrot crop in the potager?

I really like that Alex & Co Biba dress and the LK Bennett one.

The Monsoon one is a beautiful colour but is the neckline too plunging for you, Cmot?

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 23:27

cmotd, I have to apologise for my links - have just realised that many of the garments shown have limited size availability, much to my chagrin - I was going to go for the devore top and skirt but nae luck

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 23:30

mistle, love that boiled wool jacket thingy - although not sure what boiling wool does to it?! (I thought it shrunk it usually, does that make the jacket preshrunk?)

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 23:30

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 23:33

Whoops!!!! Sorry, don't know how that happened!!!!!

I think boiled wool means that its more like a standard fabric rather than a stretchy wooly cardigan - it should keep its shape a bit better etc.

Its rather a nice colour too isn't it! There seems to be a huge amount of dark and black around at the moment.

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 09/02/2009 23:34

I'm such a slow poster!

Greetings, zazen. Please help me finish this bottle of champagne!

Mistlethrush - that jacket is lovely but an honest appraisal in a shop mirror has forced me to admit that things like that make me look far too norktastic!

Good night everyone.

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 23:36

TMBD - yes, I don't even bother trying things on like that anymore!

zazen · 09/02/2009 23:58

Ok will have a last swig before I turn into a pumpkiiiiiiinnnnnnn!

zazen · 09/02/2009 23:59

will roll off to pumpkin patch now.

zazen · 10/02/2009 00:00

ThumbLoveWitch · 10/02/2009 00:07

zazen · 10/02/2009 00:41

mwah!

mistlethrush · 10/02/2009 09:24

Coffee anyone? And I've got some toast with marmalade/honey/jam/marmite?

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 10/02/2009 10:06

Could I have hot chocolate? Toast and honey would be wonderful. Yum!

mistlethrush · 10/02/2009 10:21

I'm pleased to say that MJ cooperated fairly well at breakfast time and managed to complete breakfast without too much angst. He tells me he's going to be good at school. We'll wait and see

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 10/02/2009 10:29

That's good news, Mistlethrush! Fingers crossed for pick-up time!
