A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

Cheers all!

Eeeee-awwww
Any carrots left?

daisy99divine · 09/02/2009 21:48

Amber was thrusting them under the sofa for RacingPig but since he prefers twiglets I am sure there are some there!

Hi Donk, are things a bit better now? Sorry you were having a rough time earlier

Cmot - On the basis that one is never far from a branch of Johnny Loulou's .....

his one might be good for accentuating the norks and skimming over the tum womanly curves.

Possibly too diva-ish for a family party?

Can't decide whether this is foxy or mumsy.

Nobody puts this baby in the corner

Please let us know what you eventually choose!

Donk · 09/02/2009 21:53

(Donkey tilts head to one side and makes the sort of snorting snuffling noise given by donkeys having their ears stroked)

(Sound of carrots being crunched)

Much better day today thankyou

Donk · 09/02/2009 21:55

Mistlethrush, you said something about carrot tea a while back...

Where on earth did you find it?

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 21:58

No, definitely can't see any pictures...

As long as Daisy boy is better than MJ with his pedalless bike - he isn't allowed to ride it inside. To start with he rode it at people rather than round them - now he can aim at the gaps much better, although he does it with much abandon and reckless speed. He has the full safety gear (helmet and gloves)(I never knew you could get such small cyling gloves)(although we had to get an adult helmet as none of the childs ones fitted him!!!). We have also just got a trailer bike for him - which attaches to my bike - so he can learn to pedal without having to do the balancing and steering (which he is very good at now) at the same time. Trouble is, at the moment, we go along with me saying: 'No, the otherway - I can hear that you are pedalling backwards MJ - do your legs forwards - the way that feels difficult - no, the otherway, No, stop doing it like that and do it the Other way. NO,the OTHER_WAY !!!' Have seen quite a number of smiles as we've argued our way past with flag flying!!!

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 22:02

No Donk, it wasn't tea - it was rather stronger - I think that they probably make it in Slovakia or somewhere similar where they don't have sufficient more traditional starters for interesting drinks such as barley or grapes...

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 09/02/2009 22:07

I can see Tea's pictures but not Daisy's.

Anyone for a twiglet? Yes, you can have some, racingpig, but please some for others!

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 22:09

speaking as another neon white type yet with freckles and mildly reddish hair, I can vouch for the fact that black is BAD (unless going for the Morticia Addams corpse look).

Beige isn't that crash hot either - it kind of accentuates the gloss white of the skin.

CMOT, what colour is your hair? and your eyes? I can't really tell from your photo.

Anyhoo - I would try and find something that matches your eye colour if poss, in a longish floaty drapey style. Deep neckline = good for limited norkiness, I have found. Can't help with ACTUAL styles as my fashion sense is hidebound and hasn't coped for the last 3 years minimum!

Donk · 09/02/2009 22:11

By the way, I hope that my pile of hay in the corner isn't causing any problems.

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 22:11

Yes, I can see Tea's extremely arty, rather continental pictures too!

daisy99divine · 09/02/2009 22:14

oh I have resorted to asking Tech for help, I am hopeless!

I like dress 1 and 4 but appreciate the Black is Bad comment

Donk your hay is no problem at all, might snuggle up and join you

Mistle, Daisyboy is very good - day one lots of crashing into things but realised pretty soon if he wanted to have bike past day 2 not go! It's tiny and plastic so not a real hazard
would love bike thing, I cycle all the time, but London is just too busy at the moment...

daisy99divine · 09/02/2009 22:16

oh, I have read Tea, how lovely the photos are and how lovely Milk is looking!

My photos are not arty and indeed my photos are absent

Daisy sloshes more wine into glass, cos at least she can do that!

Donk · 09/02/2009 22:18

I think I'll just listen quietly and try not to nod off in the corner...

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 22:21

I've got lots of black. If I see a nice dress, top etc in black in a sale, I buy it - it means that I've got lots of choice for concerts depending on the weather. I can cope with black OK too - at least I don't clash with it! (I have to be really careful with red - pinky red is OK, orangy red really bad!). However, when you said neon white I did wonder whether it would be the best.

CMOT - What about jade/turquoise - I think that they can sometimes look lovely on a pale skin...? If you give us a clue about what colours you like we might have a bit more chance of finding something.

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 22:24

I love some of that stuff in the Nougat catalogue though!

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 09/02/2009 22:29

I am trying to wean myself off black - I don't have the requirements of concert performances to think of, alas - but agree that it can be very draining. However, I still know people who believe that black is mandatory for any outing after 5pm so bunged a couple in.

Cmot - Where do you normally buy your clothes? Are you a tailored or a wafty sort of person?

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 22:30

Actually mistle that's quite funny - in that catalogue there are a couple of really nice turquoisey/jade colour dresses!

CMOTD, have you everhad your colours done? I haven't had mine done properly but an amateur enthusiast "diagnosed" me as an autumn - made a hell of a difference to my clothes choices and how good I looked!
(improvement, in case you are wondering! )

teafortwo · 09/02/2009 22:38

I am glad you can see my profile - it took me ages to do!

LOL at my pictures looking continental - they were taken in Covent Garden actually - they are our wedding pics -we 'ad just hot 'itched at Marylebone Taaarwn 'all! The day was magical for me.

Mmm... come to think of it that beigey colour would look bad on me too (light hair and pale bad skin).

Wanders off to look for more pretty dresses...

UniS · 09/02/2009 22:42

Arrgh- boy have chickern pox. unis runs gently screaming into donks pile of hay.

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 22:45

oh dear, UniS - has it only just come out?

Donk · 09/02/2009 22:45

Donk pats UniS sympathetically and passes him the bottle of calamine.

Its nearly full, since the donklet refused to allow his spots to be dabbed with it under any circumstances.

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 09/02/2009 22:50

Offers UniS the customary menu of

((hug))

((supportive pat on the arm))

((friendly wave))

mistlethrush · 09/02/2009 22:51

I hope that he gets over it quickly Unis. MJ got it at 3 months. It looked like gnat bites to start with - and he obviously wasn't quite himself - but it took about 4 or 5 days of having spots and eventually getting to the out of hours doctor to get it diagnosed. We were lucky in that he hadn't learned how to scratch - although it was really funny watching him try to scratch his scalp - the best he would do was bury his head in your jumper/shirt and rub as hard as he could - which resulted in the only small scar he had, although that is no longer visible (unlikely the one that I blame on dh)(I hope he never wants really short hair as it would be very visible then)

teafortwo · 09/02/2009 22:56

That reminds me - cmot - do you do spots... in terms of clothes???

In all seriousness - good luck Unis chicken pox is yuk!!!

cmot...
