Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

UniS · 24/01/2011 14:47

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

One is never too old to be a rock goddess.

Scout19075 · 28/01/2011 23:01

I had two people ask me today "Are you American?" Um, what gave it away?! Grin

That is so true, Scout

::Totters across the stage in platform boots::

::Or considers a nice pair of clogs, like Brian May's::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:03

Wow, BoffinMum, my mind is, like, totally blown. Dude.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2011 23:04

Be a laff, anyway. Do I have to sleep with people? That's what put me off first time around. There was a lot of shagging expected in order to Get On.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2011 23:05

I think they need to post in Good Housekeeping to get some advice on how to eplace the elastic in their tracksuit bottoms, especially if they are planning on advertising a directory enquiry service afterwards.

Top Gear should do a version of that with cars for Children in Need.

Scout19075 · 28/01/2011 23:08

G'night ladies, I'm off to bed - BabyScout hasn't learned the art of a lie-in yet. Sad

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:11

I think you need to go straight to international megastar status without bothering with the years of gigging in slightly seedy pubs. That way you get to have everything on your own terms - bowls of M&Ms with all the red ones removed or George Clooney delivered by room service.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2011 23:14

That would be cool.
Worst gig only 8 people came to. Maida Vale Public Library. Don't ask. Blush

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:20

Did you not get enough bookings?

::Has seizure at hilarity of own joke::

BoffinMum · 28/01/2011 23:21
Grin
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:33

Were you accompanied by Jimmy Page on guitar?

::Passes out::

BoffinMum · 28/01/2011 23:36

The volume was pretty high
But we felt on the shelf tbh
Grin

Gotta go to sleep now before DH tells me off.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:37

::Revives slightly::

Good night!

UniS · 28/01/2011 23:42

no one wanted to check you out and take you home then.

I think I may have lived with the guitarist from men in tracksuits! Or at least someone with similar facial hair. he was my bridesmaid.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:52

::snort::

You have led and do still lead such an interesting life, UniS.

::imagines wedding photos with hirsute Norwegian tracksuit-clad bridesperson::

Right. Off to bed.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 28/01/2011 23:54

Sneaking back in to deliver more fun from Norway.

UniS · 28/01/2011 23:56

Its Ok, he didn't wear a tracksuit. He did shave his beard off much to my disappointment, and he did tie his hair back, which made my mother happy, and his waistcoat sort of matched the colour of teh other bridesmaids dress. AND although his ( bridesmaid) yellow landrover had broken down a friend of my Dad got me to church on time in HIS landrover.

It looks like you lot had a good time.
Welcome to the tearoom, Boffin, you look like you will fit right in with us.
Amber I see I have managed to miss your earthshattering news this week. I am glad to hear you have got your panicking over with for the moment. But really I think that you are allowed to deal with this however you wish. Feeling forced to be depressed/positive can't be good. Here in th TR you can count on us whatever you feel or don't feel.

amberlight · 29/01/2011 07:57

Thanks Catita and everyone else.

Off to sunny Oxford with dh today to create mischief of some touristy kind, then a concert this evening. Should be good.

UniS, you had a male bridesmaid? I'd never thought of doing that! Wow! Could have done with one for my wedding day, given the hilarious disasters that occurred throughout.

purpleknittingmum · 29/01/2011 08:06

Hello everyone!

Managed a lie in today, even on weekends I am normally up early!

Off to the hairdresser this morning for a trim!

Tee2072 · 29/01/2011 08:44

Sounds like I missed quite a party last night! I was watching Inception. Good film.

Off to the shops today as LCT seems better!

CMOTdibbler · 29/01/2011 08:59

Goodness - I go out for the night, and this is what happens ?

I was out with local MNetters last night, which was DH burst into tears, and told me he couldn't cope with the stress from work. Not great Sad
