“What is Lurkers' Week?” we hear you cry from the shadows…

A lurker is someone who reads threads but is yet to take the plunge and post - if that sounds like you, we'd really like you to step into the light and join us on the boards .

All you have to do is post on this thread to say hello and your name will be added to the Mumsnet top hat where you've got the chance to win your choice of a bottle of Red Velvet Cupcake Baileys or Tanqueray gin AND a legendary Mumsnet Mug - which may or may not be dishwasher safe.

We’ll also be rewarding super helpful regular posters who drop by with words of encouragement for our wet-behind-the-ears newbies.

Ah, in that case: I love it when lurkers break cover and post, especially long-time lurkers. If you're a former lurker reading this, apart from on this thread when the motivation is clearly tatt mug accumulation, what motivated you to finally stick your head above the parapet and post?

And on second thoughts, I'd quite like to drink my gin out of a MN mug and it would make a change from a bucket I suppose

I am not a lurker ..well I AM on some threads and do not comment on them.
I have been on a few years now under a couple of names.

Advice ? If posting photos block out identifying features .

I'm a long time lurker. I started a thread once about 5 years ago (under a different name I think) when I was going through a tough time and the response wasn't positive, so I've never dared start a thread again. Or comment really (only very minimally).

@EagleVisionSquirrelWork that advice is fantastic and I could have done with that 5 years ago!

Luckily I'm in a much better place now, but still wary of posting...

Hello, I am a newish signed up lurker. New but addicted already, i am here everyday! I have yet to comment, i tend to be the wallflower on forums really, although a few times i have been tempted in Relationships etc when i really admire a poster for their bravery. Love the fun posts as well, so maybe one day soon i will post. x.

I enjoy reading AIBU every day and find it fascinating, helpful and funny in equal measure - much to my DH's dismay! I'd pretty much kill for a MN mug so that I could see his face when I gave him his morning coffee in that rather than his usual boring I ran a marathon aren't I very special mug

I lurk a lot - I love reading all the posts! I occasionally post and I will try to post more!

I've been lurking here around the time the other website went skewiffy but very rarely post. I often read while one handedly doing things around the house when I could be more productive . I often wonder what's the point in replying, when quite a few other people have already given the same opinion . Quite enjoy being here and reading advice. I do agree with the notion of not giving away too much of your private life by he way!

That’s one powerful singing voice you’ve got there AnneKipanki and like the earrings too. Gin is definitely needed to keep those vocal chords in fine fettle.

They have shrunk a bit over the years . I have shrunk and faded too .
Never mind , the gin will rejuvenate me .
