Boden wellies?

ninah · 21/06/2010 23:32

my friend is setting up her stall tonight
shilpa silver, go and see her

dinasaw · 22/06/2010 00:29

I am so excited about going. The kids are teenagers now so will be off camping by themselves. We need to carry fruitshoot bottles as identifiers.

CaptainWinky · 22/06/2010 21:22

how exciting! I have just (only just!) been given permission to issue control freaky lists to OH and am taking advantage. Have had to keep excitement discreet until now

Roobie · 22/06/2010 21:32

Yay - I'm excited too. We're going without kids (thanks MIL/PIL!). I'm heading down there on Thursday with a friend but Dh is going in Weds am with a couple of other friends to pitch up. We usually camp up the hill opposite the Pyramid stage. I'm totally obsessed with checking the weather forecast at the moment!

auberginesrus · 22/06/2010 21:49

Lol at fruitshoots - surely they get confiscated at the gate?

DH has just set off, DS1 is most upset that he isn't coming with us...

omnishambles · 22/06/2010 22:02

I havent done any fecking packing and we're leaving first thing tomorrow wah...

I have a few hours of work to do tomorrow, have to meet up with mil to drop off the kids tomorrow night and am leaving first thing Thursday. Haven't done any packing for me or the kids... but I do have a list [smug]

You will recognise me as I have just come out in a horrible allergic rash from some suncream I used at the weekend. Blummin typical when it is going to be the hottest glasto for years and I look like I have some horrible lurgy

CaptainWinky · 28/06/2010 21:14

I had a ride in Michael Eavis's Landrover.....

omnishambles · 28/06/2010 21:48

ooh get you..

I made friends with a member of Hawkwind and blagged a free booze area with lovely showers and world cup on the telly not that I spent THAT much time in there...oh no

CaptainWinky · 29/06/2010 14:49

Well done you! We managed to get P passes and access all areas but the only celeb I could bring myself to have a pic with was Emma Watson as I knew DD would be thrilled to show her friends her mum with Hermione Grainger!

CaptainWinky · 29/06/2010 14:52

Think we may have tickets in pipeline for Green Man too, which should be amazing if we get to go. OH has however said that he will only go if they give us VIP again. Foolish man (and yet my source of all the tickets lovely)

omnishambles · 29/06/2010 18:55

ooh I can never bring myself to speak to people - I wanted to ask stephen daldry if he had any ideas about the olympics yet but felt it was too intrusive so I just stared instead which I'm sure he enjoyed.

We did partake of lots of the backstage partying though which was good fun. Didn't think OH would find it great for his rep if his girlfriend was stalking everyone. I was too cool for school

I did squeal a little bit when OH got a high five from Snoop Dogg though.

I tell you what the funniest bit of the festival was- Bez's Acid House Tent. Brilliant, like stepping into early nineties.

omnishambles · 29/06/2010 20:43

We walked past that one night after strummerville (also full of staring potential) but never went in - did you think that all the late night areas were too dance orientated this year? strummerville was the only place left and that was too full of alexa chung lookalikes to actually sit down.

Snoop Dogg I cant beat that with a Lissie backstage tantrum 'I am so sick of interviews' er thats biting the hand that feeds luv...

I must confess that some of the people we saw I only who they are now cos they are in Grazie today

Were you in the split hospitality site that everyone was moaning about?

And the funnist part for me is always The Biggles Wartime Band - they were on in the Croissant Neuf just before Seth Lakeman and did a pisstake folk whaling song - brilliant.

I had the BEST time ever. Didn't meet any stars (this time) Just got drunk and saw LOADS of bands and drank cider.BLISS! Left dd behind, I felt so sorry for all those poor babies in the heat and it was great to feel like me rather than just mum.

omnishambles · 29/06/2010 23:26

So what was everyones few best things then?

Guilty Pleasures in the Queens Head was amazing - that many people all singing Living on a Prayer was quite joyous...[sad old gimmer emoticon]

Hello, have finally got over my aching legs.

Get you lot and your back stage sleb stalking - I passed close enough to Christopher Eccleston to pinch his bum (but didn't have the courage!) on the way to Stevie Wonder.

Agree a lot of the late night stuff was very dance based, but on Sunday found the Cuban stuff on the Common which was brilliant.

As posh single mum said, the best bit for me was the chance to totally relax and not have to worry about the kids

omnishambles · 03/07/2010 22:50

That Cuban place had the best and cheapest smoothies...did you make it into the Wall of Death - whenever we tried it was closed.

I saw a lot of big names this year; Snoop, Shakira, Gorilaz, Corinne Bailey Rae, Reef, Faithless, Scissor sisters, Magic Numbers, Stevie Wonder, Paloma Faith, Norah Jones, Slash, Vampire Weekened, Jack Johnson, Florence and teh machine, Dizzie Rascal, Muse. Wow! I'm sure I've missed some out. Didn't sleep much.
tried to get into Arcadia but the queues were massive. Still feel sea sick now due to lack of sleep.
