Oh meant to say, thanks for the info on Shambala - have been looking for a Glasto type festie to go to with my teacher friend and our DCs and think we may give this a go next year.

omnishambles · 17/06/2010 22:22

aubergines - I reckon we should all try and go to shambala next year.

[coughs] due to being ahem old and never having camped with the punters we are in Tangerine Fields [ducks]

auberginesrus · 17/06/2010 22:34

Gosh thats so exclusive I don't even know where it is!

My first year was 1994 too, had just finished uni. Am hoping the weather is as good at then(as I remember it was lovely and sunny)

omnishambles · 17/06/2010 22:39

Yes it was baking that year - I was litter picking and loads of people came into the festival under the fence in our field...

TF is the cheapest off site option - just outside ped gate B - the gate at 2/3 O'clockish anyway - its a long trudge from anywhere but am used to trudging from up by the farmhouse anyway...

auberginesrus · 17/06/2010 22:44

Oh we were camped up that way last year, at the top of the family field. Not too bad for Pyramid/Acoustic/Circus fields but its a mega trek from the Green fields. Lot easier without a double buggy I bet though

Just googled Tangerine Fields, looks lush - I am hoping my ear plugs/eye mask combo will mean a peaceful night's sleep anyway

omnishambles · 18/06/2010 09:49

Yes I think we will be setting out for the day and not going back again...well except for on saturday to get dressed up for dinner.

Where are you going to be aubergines? Pennards?

omnishambles · 20/06/2010 09:51

Anyone checked the latest weather forecasts? I'm too scared to... Why has it suddenly turned cold?

PuppyMonkey · 20/06/2010 10:25

am very of you all. Just to say, I saw Stevie Wonder live about 25 years ago and it was utterly amazing. Honest, even if you think you won't like him/ aren't bothered, just go and see him - whatever else you do there!

Haven't been to Glastonbury with a toddler, but been with older kids and t'was fab. Although you do spend most of your time at that pirate ship.

omnishambles · 20/06/2010 11:21

Anathema - the BBC weather says sunny sunny sunny sunny... though i am packing my wellies and my very untrendy school run coat.

Sorry puppymonkey - theres always the BBC red button, not the same I know though.

clashfinder

Friday is looking rather jampacked for me

Hope everyone has a great time!

omnishambles · 20/06/2010 17:32

So how many MNers have we got then?

I think we should sign in...I'll start...

Omnishambles (to be seen mostly in the Green Fields and at George Clinton)

We've tried our new tent out this afternoon, its a lot smaller than our family one so I'm hoping its dry as it will be hard work if its muddy.

We're thinking of camping in the Dairy Ground, towards the west of Pennards. Its apparently not too packed or noisy [old bid emoticon]. It will be down to DH though as he is going as an advance party, as I can't get down there till Thursday.

I will also be mostly seen in the Greenfields, very much looking forward to not being tied to at least 2 hours a day in the Kidz field

I'll be there, in the Kidz field, or in West Holts with DS pointing at flags (he's fascinated by flags). Or generally wandering around site, pulling DS along in a little red wagon.

I just spotted myself on the Glasto programme that's on BBC4 right now! At the barrier for Joe Strummer in 1999. I didn't think I could get any more excited, until I started watching this.

1footinfront · 20/06/2010 22:54

Im watching it too! Isnt it exciting!

We passed by the site today on our way to Wymouth, lots of lorries going in and out for the catering side of things.
Lots of marshalls around.
Have a good time! The weather looks fabulous this week

Ripeberry · 21/06/2010 00:16

Ooh there's a few of us now. Do we need some sort of MN identifier in case we bump into each other?

Am packing my wellies as insurance against rain

Trying to pack light, but DH appears to be packing for a months stay for a family of 8. However as he is doing all the fetching and carrying Wednesday am and I am swanning down with my friend on Thursday, I am not bothered!

omnishambles · 21/06/2010 23:03

hmm I could write 'Nice ham' on my forehead/cheek a la Chris Martin (I know thats its his hand he draws on but am not going round staring at peoples hands)

um any alternative suggestions? I could make a flag with 'norks' written on it and hoist it up in front of the stage?
