Just been thinking about this lately, as I would like it to be a rather musical affair, but also startting a third thread to see which one is most responded to/ignored !!!
So far I have Live Forever - Oasis
Forever Young - Bob Dylan

I WILL FIND MORE !!

It's got to be Going Underground by the Jam

Hassled · 21/11/2008 21:11

I've always said that I'm going out to Blue Suede Shoes - and that's the way I intend to go . And a bit of Faure's Requiem would be nice.

TheGrillerPedant · 21/11/2008 21:11

Not so good for a cremation

Flynnie · 21/11/2008 21:13

Dh wants Going underground by the Jam
I would either have I shall be released(Dylan) or Learn to be still(The Eagles)

Actually as a mad Eagles fan it would have to something by them.

the sound of silence

more · 21/11/2008 21:14

Not fussed really, think it should be up to the kind people that I leave behind. I ain't going to be there to hear it anyway

I would assume though that one of the songs my husband would choose for my funeral if I were to go before him would be My Girl as it is "our song".

janeite · 21/11/2008 21:15

Asleep by The Smiths

GumsNRoses · 21/11/2008 21:15

Ring of fire - Johnny Cash

Don't wanna miss a thing - Aerosmith

Flynnie · 21/11/2008 21:16

Of course griller there is Funeral Pyre by the Jam for cremation!

ShowOfHands · 21/11/2008 21:18

When I'm Gone, Thea Gilmore version
Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

cousinsandra · 21/11/2008 21:19

Kung Fu Fighting

Chatkins · 21/11/2008 21:19

ooh Ringof Fire is going on my list too Gums! Love that song.

Suppose dh would choose The Beach Boys God Only Knows, as I walked down the aisle to it on wedding day, and the lyrics kind of fit both !

GumsNRoses · 21/11/2008 21:32

What about James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover

pushchair · 21/11/2008 21:36

I always think Daddy Cool by Boney M. 'She's crazy like a fool, What about it Daddy Cool............Daddy, daddy cool, daddy, daddy cool. I'm crazy like a fool........'
Or Sunny 'The dark days are gone and the bright days are here, my sunny one shines so sincere, sunny one so true I love you.....'
Nothing like a bit of Boney M to cheer everyone up.

janeite · 21/11/2008 21:37

Sorry but I'd HAVE to be dead to cope with the sound of James Blunt!

Just thought of Fire by the crazy world of Arthur Brown[?]
Especially when he begins to get really hysterical
