I'm late to this because MN is a nightmare to use at the moment! So glad this thread is here
I was so excited when she announced a new album. I did not see that coming at all. I genuinely thought that she was going to go more into production now and behind-the-scenes stuff and maybe even produce a musical or write a film, etc and that there might not be any new music for years.
I have been a fan since the beginning, so I guess we're coming up to 19 years now - and I thought that the immense volume of work she's produced over the years was probably at peak with TTPD.
I'm delighted to be wrong! I really like these two producers too.
I don't really have many thiughts about the album except to say that... I suspect Father Figure might be about "Industry disruptors and soul deconstructors/ And smooth-talking hucksters out glad-handing each other" (isn't that such an underrated song)
But she will prove me wrong and it will just be a lovely song about her pa 😂
The only time I've ever tried to buy something from the website was the Eras tour book. I failed! I think it sold out within two minutes.
This time I wanted to get a CD, and I was very surprised to get that straight away.
Going back to TTPD for a minute, I still really wish we had a video for "my boy only breaks his favourite toys". Taylor wouldn't even need to be in it. My vision - lol - was for the dancers to be the contents of a toy box. So we could have Nutcracker - I think that's Jan's job - and obviously the sickest army doll and they could play out the song lyrics, because they're such brilliant dancers they would do an amazing job. We could have the shadow of Taylor in the background showing her playing with the toys. It would probably amuse her to play the doll where you pull a string and she'll tell you that he runs because he loves me... it's also a really good option for the drummers from TSMWEL to be in a music video too. I think the drums are amazing in MBOBHFT!
Anyway, I feel better now I have shared all that with you guys. Normally there's nothing to look forward to in winter, but there is now!
