Age 19 I met DH at uni, both off our faces on Es and to be honest we had a bloody lovely time raving it up at hard trance and drum n bass clubs, drinking in pubs, etc. Fast forward 20 years and we are married with 2 kids and live each other, however he's now tee total and quite insular. I will launch myself onto any available dance floor but as my taste is quite niche (tidy boys, breeze n styles etc) I'm usually not feeling it if we go out.

So I cane it at the gym with my headphones on and am now quite fit 🙃 I just yearn for a proper club or festival to suit MY tastes. I'm nearly 40 and work bloody hard during the week. DH is currently peed off as I've spent all evening with my headphones on but music is life!

@GappyValley

How old are your DCs..?

We took ours to the Big Fish Little Fish family raves…

Daytime raves with proper DJs from our youth, but at acceptable volume for kids, with bubbles and craft tables and lots of people dancing with babies in slings

It’s absolutely brilliant and you can spot the other old ravers a mile off from their dancing
You give each other a knowing nod, swig your wine from a plastic half pint glass and remember the good old days for a few mins

I always wanted to go to those but never quite made it.

@louderthan

Please make day clubbing a thing! I am 41, had my 40th in lockdown so planning a big 90s themed room-above-a-pub party for this summer. You're all invited Smile
I'm in 😀👍🏻🙌
TooManyPJs · 14/04/2022 22:25

I'm so with you OP. My raving days were the best of my life! Little did I know or fully appreciate that at the time though! Nearly 50 now, maybe I should plan a mini rave for my 50th! That would be amazing!!!!

There's lots of Quadrant Park/Cream/State reunions up here in Liverpool for all us old timers. Also The Tunnels.
I hope you find someone to go with you to the events you fancy OP.

@OfstedOffred

The blade attitude towards drugs on here is a bit horrifying.

Ecstasy/MDMA is a class A drug for a reason. it can have some horrifying side effects, cause long term addiction and health issues, and kill you.

It's not fab, lovely, or cool.

Reminds me of this

Are you sure?

Didn’t the UK drug tsar and government appointed expert once say that taking MDMA was less dangerous than riding a horse?

Granted, I’m not an expert and nor do I take it but I’ve never heard of anyone becoming addicted to it either

Reporting back from Return to Rage held at Heaven last. Hands down one of the best raves I've attended since the 90's. Music and crowd were blimin amazing. 'Having a good night? What's your name?' all sound tracked to straight 90's jungle rhythms and acid house. It really was the promised land brothers and sisters

EastHer · 18/04/2022 12:46

Rage! God, those were the days.

Sounds marvellous @BatonRouge.

Were people off their nut, though? I ld love a night of music and dancing, but dunno if I could handle being around jaw grinding, cheek chewing pill heads these days Grin.
Mind you, closing time at the local boozer is probably worse…

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 18/04/2022 17:53

I don't need drugs now. Just the music gets me high
