Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

Oh one thing I did see today. A local charity shop had the windows done entirely in purple clothes, and a frilly white blouse Grin

Was watching Pointless Celebs tonight and the final question was UK top 40 singles with Diamonds in the title, my first thought was Diamonds and Pearls, the celebs didn't come up with that and then it turned out that it was a Pointless answer! ☹️

It's hard for children to understand and I don't know how old your daughter is, how do you explain it to her? He had everything really. Amazing musician, songwriter, performer, dancer, incredible sense of style, iconoclast, brave, spiritual and just a one off. Oh, and super hot!!

Think pp either get it or they don't. And maybe children are too young to see that.

I hate most of the music that teens are listening to now. It feels so soulless, bland and corporate compared to what we had...

Purple Rain is playing at my local cinema tonight but I've got no friends in RL who are into Prince and I don't want to go by myself. It would be so great to organise a meet up from here to go to a Prince thing!

Can't afford to go to Paisley Park just yet tho...! Smile

Yes Destiny, I've never had a bucket list before but now going to Paisley Park is gonna be top of the list! Have to save up for a long time so in the meantime something closer would be great

So, if we do want to make this happen in RL, there's different options we could think about.

Looking at the Prince weekender events in London and seeing if pp are free to go to one.

Creating a Facebook group from this thread.

And from there, seeing what Prince events are happening and going to one.

Creating our own Prince day/ night/ weekend event.

I've been on some FB groups from MN before but don't actually know how you set one up, hopefully someone with better knowledge could take that on?

Am determined to make this happen tho!

I was listening to the radio today whilst driving

They had top ten of 1988. No prince I heard. Number one was s express!

But they did have bananarama.

And it made me think that Prince was actually the opposite to all that stock Aiken and Waterman crap that was around at the time.

We still need him round though for All the crap that's about now.
