Have just had a fabulous conversation with 7 yo DS2 about Prince's outfits and David Bowie's (it's been a very, very bad year for me...) and how cool they are and how there's no "boys" or "girls" stuff.

Coco I was already a massive admirer of Henry Rollins but that article was fabulous. He was spot on about the affecting nature of music and how we should continue to enjoy it. I love those shoes too - would definitely invest in a pair!

Stayed off the thread for a couple of days to try and get a grip of myself but popped into a supermarket today and saw a load of Prince CDs for sale and then noticed Cream was playing and started to cry. DD looked at me like I was nuts.

I wanna Be Your Lover and 17 Days are always my top 2, I just love them.
I couldn't pick just one more, atm I'd say Strange Relationship. It will be a different choice by tomorrow probably!

There's a great you tube video of prince called mtv special musicology 2004.

Half way through prince sings a few songs with the audience just him and his guitar and talks to them. The cream annecdote is really funny.

Starting to realised he is really gone, no matter what videos I watch or new songs i see, or whatever happens with the autopsy.

Wondering how to carry some Prince-ness forward into the future. Maybe making a bit more effort to have a little bit of glamour at least in my life? Listening to more music? Anybody got any ideas?
