There's a court hearing today about dividing up Prince's assets. One of his half brothers has said he'd like the music in the Vault to be released. When asked why he said so the world could see how great he was. Lovely sentiments but it wouldn't surprise me if its also about making money! Can't blame him really, Prince didn't make a will and so is no longer able to control his musical output. But maybe their greed will be our gain.

And I'd love to hear it and for young pp who aren't familiar with his work to appreciate how great he was!

Made me sad when Some pp on Twitter were saying who's Prince?!
It's like saying who was James Brown or Michael Jackson!

Theres so much stuff on YT right now! This is a basement rehearsal of 17 Days, one of my favourite songs. Again it's not great quality but you can see how dedicated he was to putting on a great performance by how much he rehearsed!

Hi everyone, I stepped away from this thread feeling I was getting too upset again and wondered what photos, videos, articles I was missing and came back today and wasn't wrong. Thank you to everyone posting. That's what I love about this thread,I've been able to see things I wouldn't have done so otherwise and posters who are likeminded. to you all.

Just when I think I'm getting over it - had a conversation with a friend today and got me right back to square one. Found out a friend of person I mentioned on the other thread has died aged 44. His band are playing a tribute concert in October in my home town Not connected to Prince but 'he' might be there!

Pp on the Prince.org forum are complaining that there weren't many tributes on UK TV, and someone linked to this on iplayer. It's mainly other artists singing his songs but there is one clip of him on TOTP in '97, wish I'd been in that audience!

I watched that programme on Saturday destiny - the last song sung by Gregory Porter is amazing - I got quite emotional listening to it. It's a fine tribute to Prince.

Endorphinemachine is the tribute band I've seen. They were pretty good actually! ( despite the lead singer being 6 feet tall with blue eyes! )

I went to see Purple Rain at the cinema today and was glad to see I wasn't the only sad lonely middle aged woman there by herself! There were quite a few of us. Quite a quiet audience to start with but by the end we were all singing along, clapping and cheering and whooping at the sexy bits! I'd forgotten how funny bits of the film are and how funny and gorgeous and of course sexy Prince was in it. So glad I saw it on the big screen. A bit disappointed that nobody else seemed to have bothered to wear purple like me! Even had my nails done this morning and I'm loving them.

I think the last Prince album I bought was Diamonds and Pearls but then lost touch a bit. Having seen all the amazing music coming out on Youtube now I am keen to find out what I have missed from the subsequent releases. Does anybody have any suggestions?
