that Prince in the 1980s doc is great, I really found the discussion of Purple Rain fascinating and it helped me understand why it is such a compelling song

What do people think he actually died of?

All that fame and money and he died alone in a lift. That is just so sad

According to something I've just read he got violent with Sinaed O Connor. I just can't believe that.

Morning. I've finally stopped being sad. I think I've accepted it now. I'm still gutted he's gone but it's not filling my head all the time.

Yes Cocolepew it's only filling my head for half the day now.

I can totally believe the bust up that he had with sinead o'connor - would imagine they were equally as vilotile with each other. I don't think Prince was perfect - I think he was probably pretty controlling, although I don't think he used violence as a method of maintaining that control as a rule. It doesn't change the fact that he was stupidly talented, unbelievably sexy, amazingly philanthropic and created much joy for so many people.

It's easy to forget that he was human, and would have done things in his life that were not acceptable, and that's so hard to reconcile with our idolisation and love for him. But I don't think it should stop us from celebrating his life and music in any way whatsoever.

Orange, I like to think that he knew his time was up and he went and had a sit down in the lift to wait so that people would think he predicted his death in Let's Go Crazy! I think he was being playful.

I did think the "don't let the elevator bring you down" was a bit coincidental!

Playing my Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic cd, I remember watching Top of the Pops when it came out and he sang The Greatest Romance Ever Sold, love that song.

Rave is a great album, Prince at his funky best
