Here we are, a week after Prince suddenly passed away. This is a thread to grieve, share your memories, thoughts, stories, videos and songs.

Destinys DD is nearly 16 and while she admits Prince was very beautiful, she doesn't like his music. She likes rock/pop punk so I really can't complain about her taste, it's very similar to mine - Prince is unique in my record collection! She'd be devastated if something happened to Dave Grohl though...

Would love a meet up with you all. I'd invite my sil (she's not a MNer) as she loved him too. Marcus Brigstocke was a massive fan of Prince too.

I'm on fb but I haven't been on for awhile after he died. All FB and Twitter did was to deliver bad news.
I found it overwhelming and mumsnet was my refuge.

I've bought some purple nail paint today and downloaded some prince from Itunes.

I suggested to my husband that this would be a good way of Prince getting away from the music scene but still continue to make music in Paisley park. I think it's denial though

HRH I know what you mean about Elvis. Although I'm not religious I've actually had the thought that dying won't be so bad as Prince will be there! ( wherever 'there' is...)

Been trying to find a chart show to listen to today. It's not like the old days, on 4Music is the Spotify most streamed songs and then the most watched music videos!

However there is one on The Hits music station so will listen to that. Tho will have to endure a lot of crap to get to Prince!

Destinys heaven is certainly more appealing now prince is there how is everyone feeling today? I've been out in the likely sunshine with the kids which has been nice but I just can't shake this heartbroken feeling, which I've only really experienced with real life heartbreak before so I can't really justify it..you ladies make me feel sane

Listening to the radio right now and the fact that Little Red Corvette is in the top 40 in 2016 is making me smile and cry at the same time!

Casey it is hard isn't it? Was reading on prince.org forums about pp saying that their partners are thinking they should be 'over it' by now. Sorry but grief doesn't work like that!

I can't shake the feeling either, still keep crying at random moments when thoughts pop into my head. I'm not interested in listening to anything else or watching anything else on tv apart from Prince. Glad I don't have a DH to not understand but it's my DS who is really struggling to get it. He just can't understand why everything is Prince for me at the moment, the picture on my iPad, changed my ring tone to Cream and I keep trying to tell him little things about Prince that might impress him but it just annoys him! I'm gonna get my nails done purple tomorrow so he probably won't like that either. So grateful for this group as I know you all understand

And...if so many of his songs are in the Top 40 does that mean radio stations will have to play them? Don't know how their playlists work.

Coco that pic is perfect for this thread, ain't never gonna get tired of talking about Prince!

Apparently hundreds of pp have come forward saying they're related to Prince but a couple of them may actually be true! ( according to a genealogy company on Twitter )
