Hmm, interesting and bizarre sounding theory. Satanism in music.

I randomly stumbled across someone discussing this on here so I did alot of research and the findings have actually been quite shocking, it would seem tha a lot of celebs beyonce rhianna and jay z all seem to openly worship, from their hand gestures to what they wear etc.

I am fully aware this sounds totally bizarre and I assure you I am not insane, but have a Google and post your feed back. (can't do links as I'm on mobile) :)

yes, well, jayZ is a tosser, I am in complete agreement there. But I don't think the devil is making him do it. He may think the devil is making him do it, in which case he is delusional as well as a tosser, but that doesn't make it true!

claig · 20/03/2011 17:08

Good, so we all now agree that they are using satanic symbols? That is what the OP was asking.

I understand that you are saying it is no big deal, so what? I don't even think the majority of these pop stars are satanists at all. I think they are on message and using these symbols because they are messengers. What message are they sending out in their videos? Read the lyrics, look at the symbolism, watch how he casually throws a lighter into petrol to burn Beyonce alive in her car. Watch 'Russian Roulette', see the message of death, suicide and playing Russian roulette with a person's life. Listen to 'Forever Young' and see what the message of these videos is. Read on yahoo answers, how a young girl says she thinks it is about suicide. Then you will begin to see what effect they want to create, what they are trying to achieve.

bigbeagleeyes, I know Harvey was a giant rabbit, thanks. I was hoping you would make the mental leap and not treat it literally.

"the mind has evolved to see patterns"

The image of Rihanna crouched in the triangle has been deliberately doctored to look like Baphomet. That isn't spotting random patterns, that is someone, for whatever reason, putting satanic images in a music video.

I've had so little sleep at the moment that I don't know what I believe in, but there are so many obvious images in so many videos, there must be an agenda. Whether this is mass hypnotism to drag us all into hell, or simply a ruse to get us talking about it, I don't know, but the images are there.

colditz · 20/03/2011 17:14

I didn't agree that they are making satanic symbols, I agreed that they might think they are, and that they might think they are effective too. That is not my belief, it is my belief that this has somehow become fashionable within the over inflated egos of the music industry and that it will blow over as soon as the devil doesn't turn up to whatever welcoming party they hold for it.

And that regardless of what evil people do, they are making their own damn choice to do so. Satan is not making them be bad, God is not making me be good. If I started making devil horns on my head, it would not detract in any way from the pound I put in the charity box yesterday, or the crying friend I comfort tomorrow.

Why is this world not enough for people? Why must there always be ulterior motives of good or evil? The world simply isn't that .... simple.

Yahoo answers was used by a young girl who said it made her feel that it was about suicide. So she asked a question to other young people to see if they felt the same way. Yahoo answers is a great way that young and old people communicate directly with each other and ask questions whose answers they can't find in the media.

LetThereBeRock · 20/03/2011 17:20

I do yes. I know one at the moment, and have known of others. I'm not speaking of the stereotypical. black cloaked people who go around slaughtering virgin goats while chanting ominously.
These aren't people who believe in Satan as an actual entity, the majority of Satanists don't believe he exists, but they are very definitely Satanists.

claig · 20/03/2011 17:21

BeerTricks, do you agree that some of these videos are giving young people negative influences, making them possibly feel suicidal, making them more violent?

colditz thinks that the images that they are portraying to young people have no effect on them.

LetThereBeRock · 20/03/2011 17:22

Perhaps so,but it's hardly an accurate and reliable source is it? If I wanted evidence to back up my beliefs then it's about the last place I'd think of looking. My neighbour, boyfriend, landlord, cleaner, neighbour says.. is not evidence.

LetThereBeRock · 20/03/2011 17:23

Ignore the extra neighbour.

claig · 20/03/2011 17:23

Why have we got the campaign Let Girls Be Girls? To try to counteract the images that are sold to young girls. Of course these fashions, images, pop videos affect young people.

We are all influenced by what we see and hear. Lots of people were influenced by Gordon saying 'we have only 50 days to save the planet' and by the Chief Medical Officer telling people to get vaccinated due to an impending swine flu pandemic. None of us are immune to being influenced, that's why they spend so much time putting the messages in their videos.

claig · 20/03/2011 17:27

'I'm much more bothered by the outfits worn by the singers than what hand signals they're flashing.'

I think that is because you understand the effect of the outfits they are wearing, but have not yet understood the effect of the other messages in these videos.

NiceBears · 20/03/2011 17:30

I think you are looking for zebras when there are only horses.

LetThereBeRock · 20/03/2011 17:30

I've never listened to so much crap music in my life at least not since my Boyzone fan days,as I have on this thread. I think I'm owed an apology for subjecting me to such trauma.
