Hmm, interesting and bizarre sounding theory. Satanism in music.

I randomly stumbled across someone discussing this on here so I did alot of research and the findings have actually been quite shocking, it would seem tha a lot of celebs beyonce rhianna and jay z all seem to openly worship, from their hand gestures to what they wear etc.

I am fully aware this sounds totally bizarre and I assure you I am not insane, but have a Google and post your feed back. (can't do links as I'm on mobile) :)

Grin I have a scientific trial ending on Tuesday and have to write up my results. I'm going to try the damnation angle to cover any weak spots. Its sounds like a good plan.

claig · 20/03/2011 14:39

didn't those ClimateGate scientists predict damnation for the "planet"? Wasn't some of us who asked them "Have you thought about this properly?" When we saw their emails, we got the answer they wouldn't tell us.

colditz · 20/03/2011 14:39

Maybe they don't, but they should.

claig · 20/03/2011 14:41

Virgowoo, have a look at teh ClimateGate scientists. There may be a few tips about damnation from them.

claig · 20/03/2011 14:42

Or have a look at the 'pandemic' scientists. They were wrong, but hey ho, that's science.

claig · 20/03/2011 14:43

Or read the Stern report. I think there is probably lots of damnation in there.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 14:44

Virgowoo if anyone ever tries to refute your findings just say "I told you so" and repeat ad nauseum.

colditz · 20/03/2011 14:44

But Claig, as a result of seeing those emails, the information that we hadn't had before, we changed our minds. When the faithful are given evidence that contravenes their beliefs, they say the devil put it there, or it's lies, or that the people producing the evidence are stupid, or damned.

claig · 20/03/2011 14:46

Why are you recommending that Shiny follows the ClimateGate practice? Are you trying to get her promoted up the greasy pole?

Virgowoo · 20/03/2011 14:47

I'm aware of your meaning, Claig. There are people in every industry who fluff and bodge their work, however, we shouldnt write off a whole field of work because of it.

colditz · 20/03/2011 14:48

??

claig · 20/03/2011 14:50

colditz, I never believed them from the beginning. the emails only confirmed what I thought. They didn't want to tell us about the content of the emails. They call them scientists, or to be more exact "climate scientists". I don't know if they are a catastrophe or not

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/03/2011 14:53

Claig "Or have a look at the 'pandemic' scientists. They were wrong, but hey ho, that's science"

The only people saying 'OMG, we're all going to die of swine flu' were the Daily Mail and its ilk.

The scientific advice at the time was that the current flu virus was not a massive threat, but there was a chance it would mutate to be more virulent. I linked you to a New Scientist article saying this previously, to which you said (and I paraphrase), Well, you can't expect people to read New Scientist to find things out (circulation 80,000 approx).

The Government planned and ordered vaccines for a worst-case scenario - would you have them do anything else? Cross their fingers, do nothing, and hope it would be OK?

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 14:54

Colditz I see you ?? and raise you a Confused

claig · 20/03/2011 14:58

TheHeathen, by the ilk of the Daily Mail do you mean the BBC with its nightly broadcasts with a diagram of the virus? All of the media were on message telling us the advice, the Daily Mail included. That is to be expected. But it was the Daily Mail who first leaked memos about Guillen Barre advice to millions of readers on Sunday. Andrew Marr had to mention it on his Sunday show, because it was major news. I remember watching it on TV and seeing how it was handled.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 14:58

Heathen they should have started repenting like silly buggers and saying the lords prayer continuously until everyone was dead. obviously.

colditz · 20/03/2011 15:00

You know, I think having beliefs could be a LOT of fun, and certainly something more interesting than science, which never really gives you time to get 'into' something before blowing it out of the water.

And conspiricy theories are AWESOME. With only a slight leap of faith, you can have your favourite celebrity characters doing all sorts of interesting things.

Maybe JayZ and Rhianna really are Satanists, and by that I mean people who believe in satan and that they are worshipping him to any effect. But it is entirely implausable that the world will become a worse place because of something those twats did on the TV.

plus, have you ever met drama students? Even the best of them would lie under a moving bus if they thought it owuld make people pay attention to what they are doing, or what they are saying, or their new hair. We have an influx of them every year in this town, they are hilarious ... they are like 18 year old six-year-olds. And celebrities are the ones who managed to garner the most attention, of course they want to be looked at and noticed.

nenevomito · 20/03/2011 15:02

What Colditz said.

I didn't say that if there is no scientific argument there is no argument at all. I said that science and religion differ as one requires you to believe regardless of empirical proof and the other seeks to establish that proof.

The argument for satanism in music on here has so far gone...

I think that symbol they made is satanic.
If you look at that still in the video it could look like that symbol.
I think a white horse is a symbol of X therefore it must mean the maker of that video is trying to promote X - regardless of whether they know what they are doing.
Someone else agrees with me, so it must be true!
Someone has made a youtube video, so it must be true!

It wouldn't matter if you were a scientist or a philosopher, or a religious believer or someone with a specific interest in the philosophy and psychology of religion. The above arguments are poo!

Shiney, definitely aliens. Lizard headed aliens!!

claig · 20/03/2011 15:03

colditz, it is not just one artist who has these messages, they are becoming more prevalent. their managements are in the know, it is not the decision of the individual artists. Some of these young artists have very little knowledge about the esoteric significance of the symbols that they display.

Virgowoo · 20/03/2011 15:06

I tend to agree Colditz, sometimes there's a fair bit of 'grey' in research when it would be nice to have more 'black & white'. I guess you get more 'black & white' when you've definitely made your mind up and nothing will persuade you otherwise.

Topic got hijacked there for a minute, but I dont think theres much else to say on the original topic.

Claig can stay in her bunker and disagree with everyone to her hearts content about whatever she chooses. Good luck and God bless.

NiceBears · 20/03/2011 15:08

Unicorns are white. Does that mean Satan has got the unicorns too? :(

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 15:09

And clearly claig, you have very little knowledge about them either. Or you would have told us what is going to happen. But you can't. Because you don't know what their plans actually are.

They might be trying to plan a great big suprise party for us all full of fluffy kittens, bubbles, sparkles and chocolate and ice cream. But you won't know where it is because you thought the signs were bad. Poor you :(

colditz · 20/03/2011 15:09

So? So what? What do you think is going to happen? Flares were much bigger in the 70s than sanatic symbols are now ... crusifixes were a major fashion item in the eighties..... buddhism was a late nineties and early noughties thing ....but nothing significant has happened as a result of these fads. Why would it start happening now? Satanic symbolism is no more than a picture. It doesn't mean anything except that there is a picture that some people link to satanism. You can't put evil thoughts into people's heads if there is no place for them there, and evil thoughts will flourish regardless of symbolism if the person is receptive to evil thoughts. A bunch of silly celebrities is not going to cause 'the devil' to rise and consume the world.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 15:09

And Unicorns of course.

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 15:10

No it's never been "I think this means that". The symbolism of the pale horse is a shared belief. The only thing I have come up with is the "young" lyric in Forever Young, which is not something I just pulled out of the sky, but makes sense in the context of what we are discussing.
