5 alive want to find out what you do during your 'me' time - if you're lucky enough to get any!

By 'me' time, we mean time to yourself away from children, partner or work, when you can let loose and have some fun. It doesn't matter if you don't get much 'me' time; we still want to know what you think. The survey is open to all Mumsnetters.

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and enter your details for a chance to win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

AND, for another chance to enter the prize draw, please tell us all on this thread what you get up to in your 'me' time, whether it's playing air guitar to the radio, or going out for a muddy bike ride - you can 'fess up here .

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

For me it's either a lovely meal out with the girls I met an antenatal class when I was expecting DS over 3 years ago (!) or a run in a desperate attempt to lose some weight.

One seems to lead naturally to the other

badgermum · 22/04/2010 12:38

I like to go shopping by myself and see other mums having hassle with their kids

monkeysavingexpertdotcom · 22/04/2010 12:44

Done - picked them up on some of their more patronnising options. I dance and sing round the house all the time - how weird would it be if you were silent until the house was empty then burst into song?

I(sometimes, not as often as I'd like to)go to a city and just wander round at my own pace - not necessarily shopping, just mooching, people watching, eating in grown-up places when I feel like it.

JackieNo · 22/04/2010 13:00

Done too. If I have free time, I tend to read, watch trashy tv or go online, either on here, or just browsing around stuff I'd love to buy, but that I could never afford!

RoscoPColtrane · 22/04/2010 13:11

Read, watch crappy t.v, waste time on the computer.

freefan · 22/04/2010 13:28

Would have to be having a quiet cuppa with my girlfriends catching up on all the gossip, without a constant 'MUM' from the background!!!

earthmomma · 22/04/2010 13:38

Sit and stare out the window to be perfectly honest, and totally switch off.

pinkblossom28 · 22/04/2010 13:40

My first choice when i have a bit of me time is to go for a nice long walk in the countryside and appreciate the peace and quiet!

Nyx · 22/04/2010 13:46

Done.

Beasknees · 22/04/2010 13:46

me time is no one disturbing me while i catch up with MN and if i'm lucky going to my pottery class once a week

lalamb · 22/04/2010 13:53

Have a pepsi max and flake in front of the TV.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 22/04/2010 13:54

Survey done. Me time varies, testing the sofa out for comfort, Watching crap tv, or doing some exercise ( quite rare), however as the weather is getting better I've noticed myself getting out and doing some gardening, unheard of.

sweetiepie82 · 22/04/2010 14:10

I can't believe I am going to admit this, but GLEE!! I am obsessed, oops. I am far too old for it but I can't get enough of it!!

If I'm not watching that then I'm on the PC, a little boring really aren't I
x

perapera · 22/04/2010 14:19

I read Mumsnet and watch TV. How boring I am... I don't dance around trying on clothes and make up EVER

dingdong3 · 22/04/2010 14:24

So glad you're all mostly boring like me and don't dance round the house practicing a speech for mum of the year award
I spend worrying amounts of time eating chocolate and on Farmville.....there, I've admitted it...

CheeryCherry · 22/04/2010 14:59

I read, catch up on telly I have missed, dog walk, craft a little, MN, and hot bubble bath. Don't ask for much!

leothelioness · 22/04/2010 16:15

Done.
I try to catch up with some of my OU reading,
Chat with friends online, read and MN.
ohh and I love going shopping without the kids too

ellasmum1 · 22/04/2010 16:16

definitely a really good film at the cinema on my own with lots of yummy snacks

ahedgehogis · 22/04/2010 16:41

If I had enough me time I might actually get to finish one of my many knitting and cross stitch projects then I would pamper me - long bath, candles, glass of wine, pedicure, manicure, face mask and a good book

nodrog88 · 22/04/2010 17:57

FairyFay · 22/04/2010 18:01

I love being in the car on my own when I can listen to music of my own choice (or radio 2) which isn't nursery rhymes, and without DS's chatter and constant questions (do I look like I know the name of EVERY SINGLE road???!!!)
