Mumsnet surveys

Tell 5 Alive all about your 'me' time (survey open to all, regardless how much 'me' time you have!) and you could win a £250 John Lewis voucher

5 alive want to find out what you do during your 'me' time - if you're lucky enough to get any!

By 'me' time, we mean time to yourself away from children, partner or work, when you can let loose and have some fun. It doesn't matter if you don't get much 'me' time; we still want to know what you think. The survey is open to all Mumsnetters.

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and enter your details for a chance to win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

AND, for another chance to enter the prize draw, please tell us all on this thread what you get up to in your 'me' time, whether it's playing air guitar to the radio, or going out for a muddy bike ride - you can 'fess up here .

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

I plan to work on my play script. Sometimes I plan to have a bath. Realise I'm too knackered to do either and slob on the couch with a good book or t'internet.

Study

which usually involves sitting at the pc failing to get anything done while the kids whine at me.

Of course when dp was studying he got to retreat upstairs while i kept the kids occupied and made him dinner when he finished Funny how that works isn't it?

The only time i get is at 9.25 when i drop ds1 at playschool i have a quick smoke with his teacher (my friend) outside... ds2 is at home with dp and as soon as i go home i'll have him hanging of me again so it's the only guaranteed child free time i ever get.

that was a ridiculous patronising and totally unrealistic survey. May the high heidjuns at 5alive get hold of the idiot(s) that came up with that and kick their childless sexist braindead butts.

but i'd still like the voucher if you don't mind...

i watch tv, sometimes read, sometimes sort out piles of (junk) mail, go on MN or text friends. Whoo hoo.

Possibly the most ridiculous survey I have ever completed(but hey, for a £250 JL voucher I'd do it again)

Maybe I should have written "I caress bottles of detergent whilst stroking my pregnant belly and smiling winningly out of a suburban window", because it seems to have been written by the same clichedmarketing bods

lol LittleSilver.

As with most of the other respondents I have me time after the kids have gone to bed, and when I have either done the laundry or washing up, or ignored it. I go on Mumsnet or Facebook until ds3 wakes up, by which time it's usually time for me to go to bed myself. No dancing around listening to crazy music for me, sorry. (I listen to music while doing the washing up though, maybe that counts for something.)

I play pointless facebook games in competition with my friends. I can't bear to loose.

I obviously also do rollerblading in white trousers whenever I am having a period. This survey was written by an alien whose sole experience of family life is watching the adverts on tv.

Mines usually after midnight.

I eat rubbish and catch up with work whilst washing laundry and baking cakes/doing whatever else needs doing!

Odd survey. Can't see what they'll get out of that.

I used to get "me time" when I just had teenagers. Then we had another baby. Now I just get "I want to sit on you" 24/7

Have just wasted my me time by reading this entire thread and doing wmmc's survey whilst eating chocolate and sitting on the sofa. Expecting DH home any time now so I am going to lock myself in the bathroom with a book and use the loo whilst watching a very deep bath run. I shall then get in the bath and attempt to read weighty hardback borrowed from the library without dropping it into the water.

But first I shall pour myself a large G&T...

I got as far as qu2, scrolled down a bit and thought it was all bollocks. My 'me' time is when the kids are napping or in bed for the night so I certainly wouldn't spend it singing, dancing or making any noise whatsoever for fear of waking them!!! Sky+, ironing and the occassional painting of toenails is as funky as it gets

TheJollyPirate · 24/04/2010 18:33

I am very boring - my "me" time is either between 5-6am in the morning when I drink coffee and wake up or between 10-11pm when DS (ADHD) has finally fallen asleep and I can have a leisurely soak in the bath.

It all becomes clear 5alive obv wanted survey results to fit in with their new dancing ad!

Oh and i would buy and drink 5 alive as i always thought of it as a healthy refreshing fruit drink but apparently the ingrediants are:

Water, Fruit Juices from Concentrates 42% (Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Lime), Sugar, Citric Acid, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium Lactate, Flavourings, Vitamin C, Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin)

So there isnt much chance of me drinking that and absolutely zero chance of my kids having it
