Hi all

This is the meeting point for the feedback session with Dyson's engineers on Monday March 10th at 1pm. We hope everyone who has been testing a new Dyson will join us. If for any reason you can't make it please feel free to post your feedback in advance (and send the absence note from your mum to MNHQ ) but we're really hoping for an interactive discussion session, so we hope as many as possible of you will be there on the day.

Thanks!

Thanks Scooby,
We try to get the balance right between the length of the hose and the weight/size it adds to the machine. It's good for us to know you'd like it a bit longer. We're looking at trying to get the most we can out of the shortest stored hose.

i like the fact its lighter than my DC07 and I can lift it upstairs with ease. My poor DC07 hasn't been used in weeks!

I have the dc24 and firstly would like to say that I love it.

ve easy to assemble, I am blind and therefore would have waited till dh got home to read the instructions but no need as it only took me a couple of minutes to put it together.

i've used it upstairs and although the ball does take some getting used to it's good, and I also loved using it on my kitchen floor to vacume up flour.

tis very light (can carry upstairs with one hand) compared to my maaasive dyson animal which weighs a ton.

am now angling towards getting one of the little handhelds for my stairs but dh seems reluctant to let me buy one!

only criticism really I would say was the length of the lead compared to my bigger machine...

It's also a little tight, so when you need to reach a bit further it's a bit of a tug!

I would mind it a little bit heavier (think it would still be lighter than my old one) - for me it was lead length rather than hose length.

Thanks Sparkly,
We've been working really hard on the diet plan to make our machines as light as possible. It's good to know it's working!

did anyone find that the ball takes a bit of getting used to? I found that it hurts my arms a bit because you have to hold it up or it falls down

Name: RTKangaDysonMummy

Model: DC25

Previous experience: Red/purple upright and DC15 BALL {yellow/white}

  1. How did you find the out-of-the box experience and assembling the machine? Very tight to get out of box {well packed}

  1. Did you use the instruction manual? sort of but but it could do with some words as well as pictures

  1. How did you find the following:

a. Bin emptying EASy like DC15
b. Attachments: did you use them? Yes they could be a better fit
c. Filters: locate them OK? yes
d. Manoeuvrability: get around furniture? much tighter turning circle than DC15 and lighter
e. Cleaning stairs? lighter so better

  1. How does it compare to your current machine? DC15 lighter and better turning circle

  1. Where did you store your machine? If possible: can you send a picture of your Dyson in its new home? In hallway so all my friends are jealous

  1. Best thing? lightness and turning circle

  1. Anything that you would change?

a} the foot pedal is better than on DC15 but still too clunky would prefer it to be really smooth action

b} the red sticky fricton pads on attachments are toooooo flimsy and come off please make them in the plastic not stuck on

c} the bottom of chamber wobbles ie on the DC15 there is something under the chamber that holds it securely

d} make the brushes button more obvious as to whether you are set for hard floor or carpet {or I amy be missing something there}

e} I wouldn't want a retractable lead because the housing for it would make the machine heavier

f} but make the lead longer

  1. One addition you would make if you were a Dyson engineer?

I would like a wet one like a BISS**LL

Thanks for letting me try it

I love it

it is really deffo brill

handheld would also be good for furniture imo - cats sleep on back of couches and the birds seem to drop feathers everywhere.

H used my Dyson to clean the car out - he was quite impressed but hadn't realised that the extendable plastic bit comes off so you can fit the attachments directly to the end of the hose......the amount of muck it got out was astounding (I made him empty what was already in there before he used it).
