Hi all

This is the meeting point for the feedback session with Dyson's engineers on Monday March 10th at 1pm. We hope everyone who has been testing a new Dyson will join us. If for any reason you can't make it please feel free to post your feedback in advance (and send the absence note from your mum to MNHQ ) but we're really hoping for an interactive discussion session, so we hope as many as possible of you will be there on the day.

Thanks!

instead of having extra bits of hose, could you make it telescopic? so you would have the bits sliding into each other and when you pulled it out you could extend it as far as you needed.

i did keep forgetting the pedal at the back, and kept trying to push it down at the front (as per sa DC07)

Bethoo:
Thanks for the feedback. We've noticed that the DC23 bin base can become a little stiff and we looking at making improvements now.
I'd be interested to see where the dust was getting caught. Can you explain a bit further? If you could email any photos we'd be really grateful.

if it wrapped around the DC23 you'd HAVE to make sure there's something to clip over it to keep it in place - I found that with it's current hose length it was easily knocked out of place.

On the model I have, the hose is telescopic and is very good.

actually Bethoo - now you mention it I have found it a bit dusty when I've extended it out - hadn't really thought about it - but dust certainly seems to get trapped around/in it.

I agree with Lapin about the metal tube, it would be especially hard to use if cleaning a car because it's quite long.

I agree some sort of clip to hold the hose in place on the dc23 would be good

I think that the problem with the hose, is not just the length but the 'tightness' of it - when using it there is a strong pull back to the machine, which makes it 'feel' less flexible and as if you are always just about to reach the limits of its reach.

The metal hose bit was useful though to give a cylinder cleaner feel to the machine when used in that mode. I just think that it needs to have some notches (or similar) on it, so you can choose how far out to have it.

Hey Kanga

Just in response to yuor question about wet machines. We've carried out quite a bit of research into them and found that they don't clean carpets in the way that people think. All that happens is the dirt sinks to the bottom of the pile and over time, the dirt then resurfaces. Also, because most carpets are made of wool, adding water to them can damage them over time. And lastly, the lovely moist, damp conditions provide an excellent breeding ground for dust mites.

So, we won't be making one i'm afraid!!

also on the DC23 I keep pulling it out of the cupboard and realising that the main turbohead attachment has come off it's slot at the back, it could do with clipping in more securely (like the small attachments do).

littlelapin:
The hose on DC25 should be long enough to reach the top of an average staircase with the machine at the bottom. Is your staircase a bit longer than average?

SparklyGothKat · 10/03/2008 13:33

i also found that the head is too low on the DC25 so when I am vaccuming the floors and come around my rug in the living room, it doesn't glide on easy and i have to lift it onto the rug

BenDyson - i found that when i extended the extender (if you see what i mean) there was dust all up it. i do like it though and though my mum finds it heavy as she just had to have a go i did not find it so even when full. i do like the way the tube wraps around it as well as like i said i have little space in my house so it is neatly tidied away in the living room. i have the DC animal cylinder i think.

I'm not sure about Littlelapin, but in my home the hose reached the halfway landing only.
