  1. Yes, I used it on a problem I’d had for a while that was causing me a bit of bother but not enough to warrant a doctor’s appointment. It recommended something that I will buy in the chemist and try at home.

  2. easy to understand. I enjoyed the 10-point articles as they were easier to read rather than one big chunk of text. I especially enjoyed the one regarding sleep as this is what I have been trying to improve for myself recently. I also enjoyed the articles about perimenopause as this is something I think I’m starting soon.

  3. yes, was very easy to use and clearly laid out

  4. Yes, very relevant to me at my time of life. Obviously, there were some bits which weren’t relevant such bits about TTC and post -partum, but they would have been relevant to me in the recent past.

  5. yes, it did, but I think it made one issue out to be more problematic than it is, but will try out a remedy available at the chemist first which was also recommended.

MysteriousMonkey · 09/02/2022 12:16

1) Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features? I did find it very easy to use and that was my favourite thing about it. I didn't however find it personally helpful and would never be able to have complete confidence in something like this as it's just not a replacement for a healthcare professional.

2) What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand? Really enjoyed some of the articles. The hints on sleeping better were really relevant to me and I found the articles to be well written and engaging. That said they didn't feel like they were anything that new, it all seemed like things I'd read before and was not very medical in tone - I think the articles on this app would need to be more medical like and less entertainment like.

3) Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?Yes. Although for me it seemed like a lot. Maybe because I was looking at the website on a phone rather than laptop. It seemed like it might benefit from being made plainer somehow, sto make it easier to read on a phone.

4) Was the health content relevant to you and your needs? It was, as a woman in her 40s I found the content very relevant and read (or glanced through) a number of articles - including ones about alcohol (I did dry Jan so it seemed relevant), and a lot about sleeping which I'm not great at!

5) Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?
It really just told me to speak to a doctor for my symptoms so wasn't very helpful. I imagine it would be helpful with minor ailments though, and probably quite reassuring.

februaryfilly · 09/02/2022 12:22
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?
Very easy to use and got to the answer I was expecting. It did have a lot of options which I quite liked.

  2. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?
Easy to read and understand. Some of the content is basic commensense and did wonder if they were pushing sponser products rather than the best available

  3. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?
I had no problems navigating the website

  4. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?
Yes for a couple of issues

  5. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?
Yes i did, I would porbably use this again

Borrasca · 09/02/2022 12:41
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?

Not particularly - the questions were endless and repetitive, and ended up with telling me to contact my doctor anyway.

  1. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?

I found the articles helpful and informative and easy to understand.

  1. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?

  1. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?

  1. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?

Not really, I suffer with several conditions and it mentioned these, but still directed me to my doctor. The whole process felt very laborious.

numan · 09/02/2022 12:43
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?
Yes. Too many questins some not relevant

Purplewithred · 09/02/2022 12:56
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features? It was easy to use, very clearly laid out and snappy questions. But diagnosed my arthritic fingers as carpal tunnel syndrome.

  2. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?

It was easy to understand but so generalised and pretty basic. Very average women's magazine level.

  1. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?

Yes, the navigation is good and it's all very clearly laid out

  1. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?

No, I found it too long, basic and generalised. I can't believe anyone actively seeking information wouldn't already be well aware that walking is good for them. And sometimes contradictory - eg "10,000 steps is a made up target" in one paragraph but then "how to do 10,000 steps a day" in another one

  1. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?
I tried it with the arthritis in my fingers, which it assessed as carpal tunnel syndrome. I then tried it with "frequent urinary tract infections". It failed to recognise Urinary Tract Infections as a term (or UTIs), and ended up with interstical cystitis, which was not a bad guess, but I actually am post-menopause so vaginal atrophy would also have been a good guess. So I found it not very accurate.

I don't think it's for me.

OldMMC · 09/02/2022 13:07

Yes, but the NHS website is also available and works as well as this symptom checker.

They were too wordy. All useful and accurate and easy to understand.

  3. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?
    yes

  4. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?
Yes, lots on healthy eating and women's health.

  5. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?
    Yes.

1) Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?

Yes it was quite easy to use except if you are unsure there's no way back. This is difficult if some symptoms are ambiguous.

2) What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?

Some were brilliant such as the super foods one. I really learned a lot from that and it influenced my eating.

Some were really basic. The eating on a budget one was really disappointing.

ninnynonny · 09/02/2022 15:53
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?

It was easy to navigate but that is about all

  1. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?

I found nothing particularly new or that grabbed me. Easily understood, yes

  1. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?

Yes

  1. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?

Some of it

  1. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?

Absolutely not. It assumed I was a menstruating woman when in fact I am post menopause and was asking about an abdominal problem. It then urged me to immediately go to A and E. Very unimpressed

Shalahlala · 09/02/2022 16:16
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?
Easy enough. But it wasn’t accurate. It struggled with nuanced symptoms and wasn’t able to differentiate. I just kept getting signposted to info.

  2. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?
Yes if a bit basic. I mainly looked at the healthy eating and well-being sections as others weren’t as relevant. Didn’t learn anything I couldn’t have got from elsewhere.

  3. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?
    Yes easy to navigate

  4. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?
    Mostly yes.

  5. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?
No not really just kept signposting me to lots of different articles. Didn’t really reach a conclusion so am none the wiser. I could have narrowed my symptoms down to the same possibilities really. And I tried some other symptoms and kept getting sent to call 999. It all seemed very hit and Miss and I wouldn’t trust it for advice. I’d be more confident using NHS, not perfect but at least I can see the logic of where you are signposted.

Quizanory · 09/02/2022 18:25
  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features?
yes and I was satisfied with the advice it gave me for the particular symptoms I entered

  2. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand?
The information was useful, some bullet pointed messages could have been useful. It was easy to understand, it may have veered towards the too simplistic in places.

  3. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly?
Yes it was very clear, and I liked that it said it was medically verified.

  4. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs?
    Yes it was

  5. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next?Yes it really did work for me for the specifics I was looking for.

  1. Did you find the Healthily Smart Symptom checker easy to use? If so, what were your favourite features? It was easy to use but not very accurate
  2. What did you think of the articles on the Healthily website? Was the information useful and easy to understand? The articles were OK but generic to what you could find on any site
  3. Were you able to navigate the website easily and find the information you wanted quickly? I found the website difficult to navigate just kept getting asked to sign up when trying to view things on the site
  4. Was the health content relevant to you and your needs? Yes there was plenty of articles to read
  5. Did the content and Smart Symptom Checker address any health concerns you had? Did you feel confident about what to do next? No I found the symptom checker poor I put in a diagnosed condition I have with clear symptoms and the checker did not diagnose or offer the condition as a suggestion. I tried this a couple of different times with different symptoms and it didn't work. I have a different app that does the same job to a higher standard that is free.
