This is the feedback thread for the 60 Mumsnetters who tested mattresses from the Little Big Dreams range with their 5-15 year olds. Each tester was given one of the below mattress to test with their children:

Moon Chaser (Traditional Spring) - The traditional spring mattress gives fantastic support with the advantage of an anti-allergy fabric treatment for a healthy night’s sleep, and helps to keep your child dreaming for longer. This mattress has a medium comfort.

Star Gazer (Foam) - The foam mattress has a removable, washable top panel to ensure your child always has a hygienic sleeping environment. The mattress has a water repellent layer underneath the removable panel to keep the mattress clean and ensures a hygienic sleeping environment for your child at all times. This mattress has a firm comfort.

Dream Catcher (Pocket Spring) - The pocket spring mattress provides outstanding support for the developing child. The mattress has a luxurious cover with both anti allergy and heat regulating treatments to make sure your child sleeps well every night. The top panel is removable and washable, with a handy waterproof layer underneath, keeping the mattress clean and fresh for its entire lifetime. This mattress has a medium firm comfort.

Here’s what Dreams has to say: ‘’We are delighted to be working with Mumsnetters on the launch of our new children’s mattresses, Little Big Dreams. The brand encompasses everything that is needed to give children the best nights sleep, after all a good night's sleep is the best sleep of all.’’

(Ours arrived a bit later than most due to location, Highland Scotland, so have given all feedback at once).

My final impressions:
I am very happy with the mattress, it's definitely better than the ones we had previously. I will now need to buy another one for my other child as they are fighting over it! It's very practical, quite light so easy to move around, very comfortable.

My child is usually a good sleeper but she has commented that she sleeps better on her new mattress. The quality is very good and the removable cover is a great feature for young children. I would definitely recommend to other families.

  1. Overall how satisfied were you and your child with the mattress?

Great! Both my DS and I thought it was really comfortable. I often squeeze in with him to read bedtime stories and it happily took both our weights without sagging or us rolling in together.

  1. Has the mattress improved the quality of your child’s sleep? If so, how?

Hard to tell if it has improved his sleep as due to the heat his sleep has been a bit disturbed. He does say how comfy his bed now is though!

  1. After testing the mattress what did you think about the quality?

Really good.

  1. What were your and your child’s favourite features of the mattress?

Comfy but not too soft.

  1. Would you recommend the Little Big Dreams mattress range to friends looking at purchasing a mattress for their child? If so, why?

Definitely. It's comfy, looks expensive and I think is a good price point.

  1. Sorry, my photo won't upload for some reason - I had the moonchaser
  2. My daughter loved the purple trim around the outside. It looked v good quality and not so deep it couldn't be used in a cabin bed.
  3. Quality

Final review questions:
  1. Very satisfied
  2. Definitely improved her sleep. She had a cheaper thinner mattress before
  3. Fantastic quality
  4. Her favourite feature is still the purple edge (she can see it through her white sheet). Mine is the allergy topper on it looks and feels good.
  5. I would recommend, it is a perfect thickness to use in all kinds of beds from bunks to traditional beds. It isn't too firm so easy to change fitted sheets. It also looks nice - silly when it is covered but nice to know nonetheless

Final Review - sorry this has taken a bit of time, we've been away.

1. Overall how satisfied were you and your child with the mattress?
Very satisfied
2. Has the mattress improved the quality of your child’s sleep? If so, how? This is hard to measure as it has been so hot and sticky for most of the time. However, it is much more comfortable than the last one.
3. After testing the mattress what did you think about the quality?
Just as comfortable as it seemed on first impressions. I felt it was slightly on the soft side but my daughter really likes it.
4. What were your and your child’s favourite features of the mattress? Softness, lack of smell, seems to be maintaining shape (and the purple trim)
5. Would you recommend the Little Big Dreams mattress range to friends looking at purchasing a mattress for their child? If so, why?
Yes, i think so - comfortable, good mattress and reasonably good value

Final review questions:

  1. Overall how satisfied were you and your child with the mattress?

We were both very satisfied. My DS is so grateful to finally have a decent mattress.

  1. Has the mattress improved the quality of your child’s sleep? If so, how?

Yes. I have noticed that he gets to sleep quicker. He actually told me that he looks forward to settling down in bed now, as he is instantly comfortable.

  1. After testing the mattress what did you think about the quality?

It seems good quality so far, springs back into shape and is still as supportive as day 1. The cover is showing no signs of wear or bobbling. Seams and stitching are still perfect.

  1. What were your and your child’s favourite features of the mattress?

I like the fact it has a cover and keeps a comfortable temperature. My DS says it's the support it gives- his actual words were that it 'envelops and cushions you, but without sinking in'.

  1. Would you recommend the Little Big Dreams mattress range to friends looking at purchasing a mattress for their child? If so, why?

Yes, from what we have experienced so far. It is modern, well-made, supportive, even for my strapping 14 year old and has great design features. The pricing also seems fairly reasonable.

An update a few months later...unfortunately we are getting rid of our Stargazer mattress. Less than a year later it has a huge dip in the middle of it. My son is a tall, thin 10 year old who is not at all heavy. Hope it's ok to update this thread like this.
