My best friend at secondary school was abducted and never seen again. She vanished in a spell that cannot have been more than 3 minutes because that it how long it took to walk between our houses. I remember that the parents were (strongly) suspected but nothing was ever proved.

The young couple who purchased the house next door to us had lived there for less than 2 weeks before a removal van arrived to move them out again.

Dave M had worked in the dept for 3+ years but then took a new job in Liverpool. He gave all of us a new but false address and a fictitious phone number.

Cyteen that is a fabulous description. I especially identified with the sensation of turning your head and being unable to gain a sense of perspective. I always felt that I was looking at the huge whale out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned my head towards it properly it would swoosh in and out of focus.

actually really nightmarish, and I didn't sleep well at all last night thnking about it!

StealthPolarBear · 27/05/2010 14:36

These are weird - especially LongTallJosie

I assume your theory is that you dreamed the earlier (telling off) meeting after you had the 'second' meeting? Problem with that is you knew her name before she told you...

Mine aren't like this - I was at my aunt's with my dad when I was quite young and suddenly had a sensation that something was wrong. 10 mins later we had a phone call to say my mum had been in a car crash - luckily she was fine as was the other driver.

A friend of mine recently learned that someone called up her mum and step dad and told them she was pregnant - she wasn't and they have no idea who it was.

And a stupid one - I once called my mum and for some reason decided there was a problem on the line. conversation went like this:

me "CAN YOU HEAR ME?"
her "YES I CAN HEAR YOU, CAN YOU HEAR ME?"
"I CAN HEAR YOU, WHY CAN'T YOU HEAR ME?"
"LOOK YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN'T HEAR ME, I'LL CALL YOU BACK"

...

"That's better"
why neither of us realised i'll never know

StealthPolarBear · 27/05/2010 14:40

ooh i don't want to be alone...

Disenchanted3 · 27/05/2010 14:50

I love these threads, I really do, when I was younger and less of a wimp I would finf paranormal books at the library and charity shops, aliens, ghosts, unexplained things... I strongly feel thgeres many, many things going on in this world we just don't understand!

One of the spookiest things ver is that me and several friends when we were about 12 decided to do an ouiji board.

We made one and took it t the back of a pub, not much happened, so we went to my nans,

she didn't know what we were doing, she would have killed us!!

We went into te spare bedroom and sata round it there was 3 of us, we each had a finger on the cup and were basically pissing around, it was moving but it was us pushing it iykwim, we were asking for 'elvis' to come through and generally being daft.

Then one of our friends said something ...

she said that she was going to ask for her Aunt who had died a few months or years before to come through.

So she said 'aunty xooxox' are you thre, come speak to us, (or something similar)

and I swaer to god ... the lights flashed on and off and my grans little tv came on and the video player ejected a video.

i swear to you, all in a split second after she said it,

we shit ourselves and ran downstairs into the garden crying!

Disenchanted3 · 27/05/2010 14:55

Actually I'm going to PM them on facebook and ask if they remember!

I also saw the ghost of a little girl in my room when I was doing my homework, well her feet,

i was lay face down on the bed reading and writing and i looked forwards off the beed onto the floor to see two smallfeet and ankles with a long white dress skimming the knees and calfs, i jumped up but she was gone.

It didn't scare me though, for some reason I felt she was called 'Emily' and our whole family talked to her regularly.

When we moved and the house was being knocked down I amde a point of telling her about it os she could go somewhere else

Debs75 · 27/05/2010 15:16

When I was pregnant with DD1 we told my nephew and he said 'oh good a girl'
When I was pregnant with DD2 his little sister said 'Oh good a girl'.
When I told them both I was pregnant agin they just looked stumped so I guess this is a boy.

Ny nephew also used to talk to my DD1 through my belly button

CrankyTwanky · 27/05/2010 15:19

Longtalljosie your post made my blood run cold; a similar thing happened tome! The details are really sketchy though.
I moved schools, and this girl was at the new school too, and I'm sure in a different year. She was adamant it wasn't her, but I didn't talk to her much She was really offish iirc.
She had bobbed brown hair, and i think a duffel coat. I think she was called Claire, but then everyone was in those days!

I thought she was odd and avoided her. Put it out of my mind 'till now!

Ok, strangest thing, when I was about 8 my two stepbrothers, sister and I were in a park in Midhurst when we saw a flying saucer.
It was flying v.low and making a whirring noise.(A bit like the tardis.) It flew slowly across the park, which was flanked by tall trees.
It was a really cliched looking UFO. Round with blinking lights, portholes and a hatch at the bottom.
We ran to where our parents were sitting in the car, watching us. They hadn't seen anything.

That was strange in itself, but a few years later, my sis & I were discussing it with DSBs. She remembers it as clearly as I do,in minute detail, (eg that we were on a roundabout, the colour of the lights etc) but they don't remember a thing!

StealthPolarBear · 27/05/2010 15:50
Confused
wukter · 27/05/2010 16:17

LongTallJosie could trhe 2 girls be relations with a family resemblance and a family name?
My sis and my first cousin have often been mistaken for twins and both share my grans name as their middle name.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 27/05/2010 17:05

I have lots.

On my 17th birthday as i was getting dressed to go out i had an image flash in front of my eyes so strongly i fell down and felt like i couldn't breathe. The image was of my pants covered in blood and a knife in someones hand. That night i had my face sliced open with a stanley knife by a drugged up bitch in the club and there was a pattern of blood on my pants just like i had seen. Also quite odd was that 2 minutes before it happened i had had a fiver in my pocket, no other money. When my mother emptied my pockets the next day i had over 40 euros in them!

I've flown hundreds of times in my life, never bothered me at all... except twice when i stepped on the plane and felt utter terror. The first time our plane went on fire, the second time was 9/11 which happened as we were in the air.

A woman with a white van tried to abduct me in Germany in 1989.

Also in Germany i woke up one night to find my bed surrounded with people, six of them in their twenties, one had a baby. One spoke to me and I dived under the covers and one of the women said 'You frightened her' When i crept out from under the covers they were gone. My mother reckons they were my guardian angels

I've broken my ear

When i lived in a houseshare with friends the house was haunted. There would be footsteps and slamming doors from upstairs when we knew no-one was there, a presence in rooms with us and one night as i was getting dressed for work i left my brush down next to me, when i reached down to get it 10 seconds later it was gone and was all the way across the room on the dresser... lots of other re-arranging but that was the only time i could prove that there was no innocent explanation.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 27/05/2010 17:18

Oh yeah, forgot one... when i was pregnant with dd i was lying down in bed one day and heard dp get a phone call, something terrible had happened to his sister. I fell asleep while he was still on the phone. WHen i woke up i went out to him and asked him what had happened to his sister and he just looked blankly at me, he hadn't had any phone call at all that day, much less one about his sister.

That evening he got the call; she'd been hit by a motorbike and her pelvis was crushed as well as multiple other injuries.

YouDontRememberMeDoYou · 27/05/2010 17:52

I beg of someone to ask MN to put this in classics - it's too too good to be gone soon...

littlemissnice · 27/05/2010 18:24

I had my ds on my mother in laws birthday he was not due for 3 weeks, this to me is spooky or maybe a consindence?.

When I was younger I used to see ghosts they would come and visit me,they still do this is one example.

Had my son, my granddad died a long time ago, well I was thinking about him after the birth of my son. I remember being sad that he was not around to see my son,I feel asleep and was woken to my son crying, I suddenly felt a presence,it was my grandad he came to see him and suddenly my son just stopped crying, I knew it was him.

I have loads of stories but maybe another time, great thread by the way op.

superv1xen · 27/05/2010 18:39

YouDontRememberMeDoYou · 27/05/2010 21:05

Sorry to drag up old threads but one more - does anyone remember the thread about really SPOOKY picture of the house on rightmove - with the victorian-dressed lady in the garden???

I must be attracted to certain threads .

BramblyHedge · 27/05/2010 21:44

I lived abroad in some Pacific islands as a child (from about 6-9). Expat lifestyle, did Am-dramatics and was usually in the panto. I went out for a friend's birthday dinner when at Uni. I sat next to a bloke and it turns out he was the same age as me and had been in all the panto's with me all those years ago on the other side of the world.

MonarchoftheGarioch · 27/05/2010 21:47

Debs75, your post reminded me of something that happened when I had DD1. My nephew, about 9 at the time, suddenly jumped up from watching TV and said 'that's Aunty MotG had her baby!' just a few minutes before my mum phoned to tell them all DD1 had arrived. Totally freaked out my sister!

Stealth, pmsl at your conversation with your mum!

Am now stepping away from this thread as DH is away from home tonight and I'll give myself nightmares...

KillerCleavage · 27/05/2010 21:47

I think I've posted this before. It happened to my DM not me. Bit long sorry.

On a Saturday morning in 1991 after my parent's had just had a new kitchen fitted my DM decided to take herself off to York (they lived in Leeds) for the day to do some shopping. My DF stayed at home to make some finishing touches to the new kitchen. He then decides to pop out to our local DIY shop to get something or other. He can't get what he needs locally so he travels into Leeds city centre to get it. My DM by then has done what she wanted in York and gets the train back home.

She decides not to get off at our local stop and also goes into Leeds city centre. Both do their own thing neither knowing that each other is there. My DM finishes her shopping and heads to the bus stop. There are two buses at the stop and she gets on the back one as there are more seats. As she gets on she spots my DF sat there. There is someone sitting next to him so she sits on the seat behind and they have a chat about what each other has been doing before the bus sets off.

The bus sets off and before it reaches the next stop my DF collapses with a massive heart attack. The paramedics came and did their very best, along with a nurse who was also on the bus, but he died shortly after getting to hospital. My DM is convinced that something/someone brought them together that day so she was with him at the end.
