To want to ban these phrases (not light-hearted - this would be my first act as dictator)

"I'm reaching out" - no, you are contacting me by email

"it broke me" - no, it made you a bit sad

"Picky bits tea" - just no

I confess, I've been known to use the phrase picky tea. I'll take my place at the front of the queue for the gulag 😳

The only food served in the gulag will be cold ham and extra mayonnnaisey coleslaw

I can't eat either! Guess I'll be having the toe nail version of picky bits then 😭🤢

Whitesapphire · 01/07/2024 20:47

I hate the term ‘food noise’ I keep reading on all those weight loss injections threads. It’s called hunger, everyone experiences it.

Corinthiana · 01/07/2024 20:48

Incorrect usage of "loose" - as in "I want to loose some weight".
It's lose.
Drives me mad. Like would of, could of, should of.
Hard labour for such offenders in your dictatorship, please.

Rockmumontherun · 01/07/2024 20:48

Living my best life, drives me wild. It just sounds so smug 😏 .

darksigns · 01/07/2024 20:49

Picky bits
Fur baby
Staycation

betterangels · 01/07/2024 20:49

If I were in power, there would be no 'gifting' or 'going forward'.

Let’s not boil the ocean

this is a favourite at work and it boils my piss everytime 🤣

Boils my piss is a horrible phrase

WoollyRosebud · 01/07/2024 20:50

'Boobing' used in the context of breast feeding. Makes me imagine prow bosomed women like Les Dawson in drag using them as battering rams to shove other people out of the way

VaddaABeetch · 01/07/2024 20:50

Pamper
Tummy
Curate
Hubs

Isn't it?

Waterboatlass · 01/07/2024 20:51

Mangled syntax for marketing phrases such as Melania Trump's 'Be Best'. No, 'be the best'. Start by not voting for your poxy husband. 'Find your amazing' and suchlike.

Definitely and advise instead of advice.

CarrieMoonbeams · 01/07/2024 20:51

My friend sent me a photo of her (perfectly average) lunch last week with the caption "NOM NOM".

I NOMinate her to be the first to face the firing squad.

Waterboatlass · 01/07/2024 20:51

Gifting

soupfiend · 01/07/2024 20:51

I agree OP, particularly reaching out

I'd vote for you

Oh, no you're a dictator, I dont need to. Ok as you were!

Cleanlines · 01/07/2024 20:51

Pension pot.

Pop of colour.

darksigns · 01/07/2024 20:52

Tummy time

CosFuckThatGuy · 01/07/2024 20:52

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 01/07/2024 20:25

Can we add 'pop' please? "I'll just pop this here." "Just pop on a jacket". Boke.

Similarly 'grab'. "I'll grab a coffee and a sandwich because I'm so busy and important." Fuck right off.

Haha are you Scottish? Pop screams middle England to me and also gives me the boke 🤣

Conniebygaslight · 01/07/2024 20:52

northernballer · 01/07/2024 20:35

Incorrect usage of myself and yourself.

And I & Me

CosFuckThatGuy · 01/07/2024 20:53

I don't know who needs to hear this today....

Literally nobody. Fuck off out of your car and go home.

RumNotRun · 01/07/2024 20:53

No it's something quite distinct from hunger. Hence the need for a separate term. It could really do with a better term, admittedly.
