Does parking on a closed road count as a live parking thread? 😁

So they have closed the road I live on to resurface it. It will be closed for the next two nights. We’ve had multiple letters from the council, there have been signs up for at least a month and yesterday they painted NO PARKING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY all over the road.

8 cars are still parked there with 15 minutes to go until resurfacing begins. One of the cars is right outside my house and when I saw them out the window, I tried to explain to the two women (looking like they were off for an evening in town) that they were probably not going to be able to get their car until morning but they told me to fuck off!

The road is lorry central, a guy is taking pictures of the remaining cars… it’s all go here.

Anyone know what they do? Do they just resurface round the cars? Tow them away? Do they get brutal? There’s a fair few annoyed looking men in hi-vis walking up and down! Should I get wine and a comfy viewing position?

In years to come we will be referencing penguin bollards, the couple in the hazmat suit, the sexy Scottish brother and now the dog who has his own bedroom.

I’m enjoying the number of MNers who recognise the location. The fuck off women could come back to find a whole crowd waiting for them!

They have “scraped” 3/4 of the road… it’s Armageddon time for the cars opposite isn’t it?

Also I have moved from the dog’s bedroom (smaller window, better access to the window) to sleeps-like-the-dead teen’s room (bigger window, access to window poor due to sheer volume of teen floor crap). And the workmen know because they keep looking up. I thought I was invisible in the dark but NAY because my phone doth shine up at my face making me look like a road resurfacing obsessed ghost.

It is v recognisable from my pics.. I’m not too bothered about outing tbh. It’s a lovely town with a very laid back vibe and a huge hill right in the centre that thankfully no one has ever built on. And now a full on road resurfacing party with wine, gin and a dog the size of a donkey. Possibly.

I've seen the rollar skates two!!!!! In a shopping centre at Xmas, my friend was parallel parked and somehow someone decided there was enough room behind her to scootch in. So we needed to call for help and i think they just went straight to the stupidly parked car- little skate board thing under each wheel and off we went. It was a little anti climatic because we had wanted to give the person who blocked us a proper stink eye but c'est la vie
