Does parking on a closed road count as a live parking thread? 😁

So they have closed the road I live on to resurface it. It will be closed for the next two nights. We’ve had multiple letters from the council, there have been signs up for at least a month and yesterday they painted NO PARKING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY all over the road.

8 cars are still parked there with 15 minutes to go until resurfacing begins. One of the cars is right outside my house and when I saw them out the window, I tried to explain to the two women (looking like they were off for an evening in town) that they were probably not going to be able to get their car until morning but they told me to fuck off!

The road is lorry central, a guy is taking pictures of the remaining cars… it’s all go here.

Anyone know what they do? Do they just resurface round the cars? Tow them away? Do they get brutal? There’s a fair few annoyed looking men in hi-vis walking up and down! Should I get wine and a comfy viewing position?

So despite seeing half the road has already been dug up, more people have parked on the far side?

Someone on the local fb group has put a reminder for people to move their cars. Poor show Roger. (Apologies to OP if Roger is either related to her or is actually bedroom dog )

Am sitting on my hands not to reply to him telling him not to spoil the fun!

I wonder what St Evenage is the patron saint of? Judging by some of the posts on here I reckon she is the patron saint of measuring things accurately and cutting once. She was probably martyred by being hit on the head too many times by a very low wall cupboard that her builder told her was a perfect height for a woman to reach.

I really want someone to either a) ask how many had to be moved last night or b) complain about last night.
we know at least two were moved ( FYbwoman and the one filmed) the silence is deafening considering the usual mood of the group!

NEW DIAGRAM FOR THIS EVENING. The car removal thingie is already here...

The orange is silver, the black outline is white.

All the cars across the road are at risk as Hi vis man has been taking pictures...

OP I think @mnhq need to give you an award. Not only do you have the maiden parking thread on the new site, but it's an absolute cracker - 'Fuck Off' women, towing, boss dog, baby steps measuring man, plague pit and lung potion. Thank you for this outstanding public service.

Also in case anyone is in a similar warm wine predicament, you can wrap the bottle in a wet paper towel and stick it in the freezer - decently chilled in ten minutes.

All opposite my house: there are more on the rest of the road but it’s long and curved so I cannot see them without leaving the house. Which I did to check but only that.

I heard a rumour that wobbly bottom has upped sticks too. Most unimpressed, tho my backside would probs be less wobbly without their pesto cheese!

The proliferation of locals on this thread is fab, a viper trail around town sounds great. Sadly I am in the less cultured side, though our local shop is near ducks and is by far the most superior in H town!
