To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

As children (young teens), my brother and I were looking through a family photo album. We came across a photo of our whole family but were laughing as in the photo, I had this really, really long neck ( think masai). My sister came in to ask what we were laughing about so we turned the pages back to show her and it had totally disappeared- we never saw it again.

Many years ago we were in The Golden Fleece in central York. We’d not been there long when my husband said he’d heard a woman’s voice as clear as a bell say “It’s Martha, Francis’s Martha” There was nothing more, and it was before the Internet so we couldn’t Google anything about the pub to see if Martha & Francis were previous residents & he was having some kind of psychic moment as it is reputed to be very haunted. We looked at some of the pictures on the walls to see if they’d been previous landlords but there was no mention.
A few days later I was telling my mum about it & she said “Your great grandma was born in York, let me get her details” (she is a big family history buff). My great grandma was Martha - I had no idea, born in The Shambles in York - practically opposite the Golden Fleece, and my grandma was Frances.
My husband never met my grandma, she’d passed away before I knew him and he didn’t know her name, neither of us knew Martha.
That was spooky! Where did that voice come from?

I "lost" my phone on new years day - one minute I had it, indoors, next I didn't - it eventually turned up zipped into my overnight bag - I definitely didn't put it there, and my relatives got angry with my for thinking maybe they'd pranked me - still no clue what happened

BessieBraddockAliasThorne · 13/01/2022 20:01

I was home for Christmas from uni once and my dad was chatting to me about a short story he was reading called Dead Man's Hand, which he'd just learned was a particular hand of cards in poker. I'd never heard of it either; it was a new expression to me. That afternoon I went down to London, to the big Oxford Circus TopShop (god rest its soul). I went right down to the basement floor to browse the small weird fashion labels. Something made me pull out a particular jumper from the rack. There was only one of it. It had the words 'Dead Man's Hand' embroidered on it in huge letters, along with a picture of the playing cards.
@ChargingBuck I realise the thread has moved on, but have you tried alcohol? Twice at the races I've found when I got a bit drunk I started picking winner's just by the names, no knowledge at all. I sobered up and the skill went again.
@Tolverness, your suggestion is a beacon of common sense & sound advice.
I'll give it a go ... Grin

Well, I doubt anyone will believe me! But... I’m sitting in my living room, opened this thread, thinking I wish I had something I’d experienced to contribute, when some water fell onto my feet. There’s no water anywhere and nothing above.

The timing of it as I opened the thread just adds to the weirdness.

I read this thread yesterday and was thinking the same. Got into my car and there were my sunglasses that I lost 3weeks ago.😂

Coming home from work was thinking about the poster who’d heard a voice telling him to stop at a junction just before a car came flying through. I slowed down and a big truck came flying round the corner on a blind bend taking up half of my side of the road. If I hadn’t slowed down I would have ended up in the ditch.

Once you know about the Matrix there’s no turning back 😎😎😎

Asked Alexa to turn the lights on this morning and she did, but she was unplugged....

Elephantino · 13/01/2022 20:07

I was crossing a road one day with my ex, I had a horrible vision of me being tossed in the air by a white car. It felt horrible but I didn't say anything to him about it. We went to a cafe for coffee and he told me he had a horrible vision earlier of me being hit by a white car and tossed in the air. Weird

Tilltheend99 · 13/01/2022 20:08

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

There was a party that didn't happen and a Prime Minister didn't attend it, and then a bit later it turned out that the party had happened after all AND the Prime Minister had attended it but he hadn't realised that he had. Spooky.

@Mi888

I was in Liverpool with my ex and had just gone to meet my aunt and uncle. They had annoyed me. When I walked back through the streets to the car park, there was the weirdest eerie feeling I've ever experienced, as if there was no air, just tension. A homeless woman lunged at me, everyone was staring at us even though I wasn't doing anything weird, and there was a man walking a dog wearing a superman outfit and a top hat. It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced, it was like entering a parallel universe.
@Mi888 was it Bold Street?
JustJustWhy · 13/01/2022 20:09

@LadyFlumpalot

I've just remembered another one. I've told this before on another thread, still baffles me.

My dm was Danish. She passed away in 2018 from cancer. When she knew she was terminal she joked with my stepdad that she'd let him know somehow when she got to Valhalla.

Now, back a couple of years before that she'd gone back to Denmark to visit her parents. Not long after that visit both her parents passed away in quick succession.

After mum died my stepdads phone pinged with a text. Important to note here that my stepdad is a technophobe, he doesn't have a smart phone. He has an ancient Nokia flip phone that doesn't group texts into chats by person, rather as separate entities by order of date as phones used to.

The text he received was an old one that had somehow resent itself to the top of the list. It was from my mum and was from when she went to visit her parents. It said:

"Have arrived safely. Mor and Far have collected me and we are going to get some food and settle in. Love you lots"

Make of that what you will.

I've been following this thread since it started but this post made me feel really teary...just lovely.

Shamelessly place marking. These are incredible.

When I was 4 I came out of school and couldn’t see my mum in the crowd of parents in the corner of the playground. We had a sheltered seating area (3 brick walls with a roof and a bench going all the way round) so I thought I would sit there for a moment while the crowd thinned, except when I came out no more than 5 minutes later there was not a soul to be seen. I of course panicked and went hammering on the now locked school door, and when a teacher came out she said everyone was looking for me, it seems I had been missing for 20-30 minutes and they had checked the shelter and I was not there, I have no recollection of being there for more than a few minutes. I think even the police had checked this shelter and it had been empty.

TheFoundation · 13/01/2022 20:14

I was ironing once next to the wall mounted phone, when my friend phoned. We had a quick chat, and when I put the phone down I noticed that my Mum was stood looking at me with her mouth agape. Apparently I'd turned around several seconds before the phone rang, and stood with my hand hovering over the phone until it rang and I picked it up. I hadn't been expecting her to phone. Didn't even know I'd done it.

Same friend and I had a few telepathic experiences, including both coming into school and telling separate friends about a weird dream we'd had the night before; very odd and involved sort of dream, couldn't really have been a coincidence. I'm glad we reported it separately otherwise I never would have believed her that she had it too!

Travelledtheworld · 13/01/2022 20:15

@Mi888 have you read about the Time Slips in Liverpool Bold Street ? Fascinating.

It has to be when all journeys (no matter how they are taken, foot, car, plane) are shorter on the way home!!

Tell me I’m wrong!

NicolaC17 · 13/01/2022 20:22

Not sure if it counts but I had a job interview about 6 months ago and on leaving I know I would not be starting the job if I accepted. An hour later they offered me the job so the next day I handed my notice in at work and accepted. They sent though a contract and we agreed to confirm the start date in the next few weeks. In that time I went for another interview and got the job and decided to take that instead but just feels odd that I had that feeling and then accepted with every intention of taking it.

Scbchl · 13/01/2022 20:23

I put my remote on the end of the couch and walked in to the kitchen and got a drink. Came back in and it wasn't there. No one else was in the house. I pulled out all the cushions on both couches, looked under the couch. Checked in the kitchen, in all the drawers and fridge. Then rechecked the couch and under all cushions. Got pidsed off and went for a bath. Came back downstairs and it was sat on the bloody couch where id put it. I'm still totally baffled because id pulled all the cushions off to look under them twice, so it would have moved 🤷‍♀️

TotoAnnihiliation · 13/01/2022 20:24

@Laufeythejust

The bloody cheese grater. Couldn’t find it anywhere (one of the ikea ones that catches the cheese in a pot) me and DP emptied every drawer and cupboard. Gave up and a week later bought a new one and left it on the side. Went to put it away later on and the old one was next to it on the side.
The same thing happened to us! DH and I emptied the cupboard out, cheese grater nowhere to be seen. Bought a new one, one day we opened the cupboard and they were there side by side!

@DameDoom

Not a glitch but a weird UFO one. 1990, the early morning before an A level exam, my mum came into my bedroom and woke me up really urgently telling me to come outside. I went down and most of the residents of our street were all staring up at this bright, spinning rugby ball-shaped thing in the sky above our houses. It was massive and covering half the houses. I completely crapped myself and ran back inside while they all just stood there open -mouthed for ages. Next day, my mum told me a police man had knocked on our door at lunchtime to tell her not to worry about what we’d seen - it was a police helicopter exercise. I have never seen an enormous, spinning police helicopter before. It was totally silent too. It was the talk of the street - neighbours phoned our local radio station and one called the newspaper but there was never anything written about it. Not so much as a jokey mention of local yokels getting themselves confused with ‘copters and UFOs. I have trawled the internet to see if anything has been written about it - can’t find one single mention. Still intrigues me today.
Police helicopter exercise my arse!

Various odd things happen now and then but maybe the stranger one were;

As a young teenager on a family holiday we went to a beach where I built a semi-elaborate sand castle but with unusual raised mounds around the moat. In the afternoon we went to visit a castle we’d never been to before which was basically built in the same style.

Later that same holiday, we visited the garden of one of the Queen’s residences. There was a church/chapel with a grave yard that I was wondering around reading the stones. I found a stone for a woman who died on my birthday but in the same year, next to it was her husband’s grave and he had die two days out from my brothers birthday also in the same year which I thought was a bit odd.

Also, my late mother and my now DH came to pick me up from work one night and waited in the car while I took the bins out and locked up. They both saw a ufo hovering in the sky above and were both pale and shocked when I got in the car. Neither were the type to make it up or to come up with it together as a joke. What made it stranger was that it was over a busy high street in the West Midlands rather than in the countryside where you’d imagine to see one.

sueelleker · 13/01/2022 20:39

Beanybob;
You're not epileptic are you? My DH used to miss chunks of lessons, and he wasn't diagnosed until he was in his 40's.

blueshoes · 13/01/2022 20:41

@MrsPetty

I have so many of these moments. Einstein called them ‘spooky actions at a distance’. That description made so much sense to me the first time I heard it. Some of mine are just off the wall nuts! I’m used to them now but others find it all so weird! The think I’m some sort of witch …. I’m not. It’s just quantum physics 😊
I have none of these moments. I wish I did because it would be nice to tell. But no, nothing, blank.

My matrix is de-bugged.
