I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.
Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?
DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

I just shed a happy tear for you OP.
I kind of know how you feel right now. I had no periods for months and was despairing slightly about my fertility, was about to phone the doctor to make an appointment to discuss the issues plus the cramps I’d been having to discover I was 4 weeks pregnant. We were absolutely shell shocked, DD is 10 months old now.
Wishing all the best for both of you ❤️

Oh this is such lovely news, congratulations
evilharpy · 01/12/2021 14:58
I was in a very similar boat to you OP except I did a test to make my period start (because sod's law - in 18 months of trying it always started right after a test in the full knowledge it would be negative, as I was catching a flight that morning and didn't want it starting unexpectedly mid flight. Came up positive straight away and I must have done about 15 tests to make sure. So I can completely understand how you feel right now!
Wish you the very best of luck with your pregnancy, what a lovely surprise
Fillybuster · 01/12/2021 14:58
Completely thrilled for you and your DH, OP! Hope it doesn't feel too overwhelming once you've had a chance to process everything. What a fab thread
Wetcappuccino · 01/12/2021 14:58

Hoolahupsaresquare · 01/12/2021 15:00
I’m so happy for you. I am the other side of your story so to speak - I am a child of parents with years and years of unexplained infertility who thought they would never have children. My mum was of a simile age to you when it just suddenly happened one day.
DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 01/12/2021 15:01
So lovely for you. Congratulations!
NotAQueef · 01/12/2021 15:02

This is so lovely! Congratulations 🎉
Piglet89 · 01/12/2021 15:04
Congrats OP. I was in your shoes in January 2019. Very similar situation; had a laparoscopy booked to look into other issues, was told very very unlikely to be able to have children naturally and IVF was also unlikely to work: low ovarian reserve and low AMH.
Had assumed I was going though early menopause at 38 when missed my period. Had been drinking all over Christmas.
My son is now 2 years 3 months!
Congratulations, OP!
mam0918 · 01/12/2021 15:05
Congrats on your pregnancy - I had the same with my last, I did a test just to check as I was starting meds you cant use when pregnant and was shocked to see two lines.
Both me and DH have infertility, we tried for 10 years and did IVF... we have been together 15 years and aswell as our long chased IVF baby we have two complete surprise babies that happened when not trying.
Infertility is not the same as sterility most infertile people will fall pregnant at some point its just not as easy or predictable as fertile people.
sparklefarts · 01/12/2021 15:05

Oooh, I usually hate these 'am i pregnant' threads, as they are almost ALWAYS negative, and everyone goes 'ooooh, I see a second line woo hoo!' (When there's clearly not one there!)
But THIS is a bloody positive. CONGRATULATIONS @Omgwhatthehell
