Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

Congratulations op, I’m so happy for you. Xx

YouPutTheScrewInTheTuna · 11/02/2022 15:40

Definitely... a very positive positive! Congrats :)

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 11/02/2022 15:41

Congratulations OP. I know how it feels as I was very similar 9 years ago. MNetters screaming at me to go and get a test as I couldn't even comprehend that it might be a reality at 41 and having given up all hope years before. The nice chemist told me to come back and pay for the test later as my hands were shaking too much to put my pin into the machine. I remember going to the scans and expecting them to tell me that there was no baby, even when I went for one at 36 weeks. But he's 8 years old now and driving me mad so it must be true.

TDCtomorrow · 11/02/2022 15:48

Aw this is the nicest thread I've read on MN in ages. Congratulations

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 11/02/2022 15:49

Oh my gosh, so glad to hear everything is going well so far, sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Wink
Unfortunately I can't promise it will go away as mine lasted until nearly the third trimester, it does ease off though for most women. Also I was very itchy especially on my stomach second tri, apparently some itchiness is normal due to stretching but it's best to let your midwife know just in case.

12 weeks scan sounds very promising so fingers crossed for 20 weeks, I'm sure everything will be fine though.
I thought I had a gender preference but when it came to the scan I honestly was really happy and excited when I found out it was a boy, it felt real then. 💙

This thread came up on trending and I've just sat and read through all of your posts, I may have something in my eye!

Massive congratulations OP, I agree with the sonogropher who did your scan, your baby DOES have a cute face.

This has really cheered me up after a crappy day Smile

username48582 · 11/02/2022 16:03

Such a lovely thread. Congratulations OP Smile. Keep us up to date on the sex.

Pipsquiggle · 11/02/2022 16:06

What a lovely thread. Congratulations.

Yes the 20 week scan is when we started telling more people

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 11/02/2022 16:11

I have just stumbled across this thread OP and I’m so glad I did, I have been grinning goofily all through your posts. I was terribly sick when pregnant with twins (hospitalised with HG) and the doctor told me it’s a good sign as it means they are taking all the nutrients they need from you. That’s when I started calling mine ‘the parasites’!

I’m so pleased for you both x

LadyOfTheFlowers · 11/02/2022 16:21

This is wonderful Smile

thetwofridas · 11/02/2022 16:33

This is lovely - congratulations OP! Smile

Possiblynotever · 11/02/2022 16:56

What a great post and I am so so happy for you both! I was you 18 years ago, we were both given a zero chance of conceiving without IVF and a 5 % with.
I could not believe it. My doctor could not believe it.
I have had a very special child who very soon will go her way. I thank God every day for this time together.
It will be amazing, enjoy it all!

RampantIvy · 11/02/2022 17:10

I am so happy for you @Omgwhatthehell. Your experience almost exactly mirrors what happened to me. I conceived DD just after my 41st birthday thinking I was never going to get pregnant. In spite of a high risk pregnancy I had a very straightforward labour and delivery, and the result of this is sitting at the dining room table writing her dissertation for her final year at university.

Lots of luck for a happy and healthy remaining pregnancy and labour Flowers

Nocutenamesleft · 11/02/2022 17:11

@Omgwhatthehell

We’ve had our scan and all is looking good. Thought I’d share it with you all. Due date is 31st July.

We were both quite nervous but the sonograper was lovely.
She said all is looking well. And that the baby has a cute face. I imagine she says that to everyone, but it was still nice!

It was incredible to see the little one moving around in there. And see all of it’s fibgers and toes. We feel excited but are very much taking this stage by stage.

We chose to have the tests available. There’s no sign of Down’s syndrome from the scan, but we should know within 4 days if the bloods indicate a high chance of this, Edwards or Patau.

That’s my birthday. What an excellent date!!!

This has been a lovely thread to read, congratulations!

Ivegottagoforaliedown · 11/02/2022 17:29

This has made me smile, so happy for you!! I found out I was pregnant in January 2021 which was a huge shock, I have a 4.5 month old asleep on me now. It's so surreal isn't it, I kept thinking no surely there isn't a baby in there. But sure enough with each scan there he was! Then I could see/feel he was there too.

I'd also love to read your updates! Hope your pregnancy goes smoothly and congratulations to you both!! Flowers
