Is this positive?!

I’ve name changed for this. I am due in hospital tomorrow for a colposcopy because of periods being all over the place. Just decided to do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
DH and I were told earlier this year it was very unlikely we could conceive due to my age and low AMH levels.

Was not expecting this. I’m not going nuts am I? Is this positive? Is there any way it could be wrong?

DH is at work & I can’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Am shaking.

Is this positive?!

This happened to me. I did a throw away test the night before starting IVF. I'd even had my cycle tracked that month and been told there was no egg and it was impossible to me to conceive without IVF. I only did the test because I knew they'd make me do one at the clinic. Strangest feeling ever. Amazing but very disorienting! Congratulations.

Goooglebox · 11/02/2022 13:44

And especially strange to hear a heartbeat the next week and this little fat fairy bean reclining on my uterus!! You have it all ahead!! Enjoy!!

ClemDanFango · 11/02/2022 13:47

How lovely! What a wonderful surprise for you both congratulations and all the best.

CocoPancakes · 11/02/2022 13:47

I'm new to your post but just read through all and it felt like being on that journey with you. I just wanted to wish you and your DH a huge congratulations. This is such a lovely, positive thread to read that gives hope to people like me (and I'm sure many others too). I'm smiling for a stranger on the internet, which is a bit odd.

REP22 · 11/02/2022 13:48

Many, many congratulations @Omgwhatthehell, what a lovely thread, and thank you for the updates.

Finding and reading this thread has really made me smile after a rather grim work week !

Congrats also to your DH and DCat! I sincerely wish you all the very very best. xx

WherezWally · 11/02/2022 13:49

This is such amazing news and I am so happy for you and I don’t even know you haha!! 🌺 x

SailingNotSurfing · 11/02/2022 13:52

A fabulous thread, so happy for you! A surprise baby when you'd virtually given up hope is absolutely fantastic. Wishing you well and hope the nausea passes soon. I remember puking into every litter bin I passed on my way to work - I'm sure passers by thought I was drunk Grin

Northernsoullover · 11/02/2022 14:00

What a wonderful thread! I thought that's a strange looking LFT 😂 congratulations ❤️

MinkyWinky · 11/02/2022 14:03

This thread makes me smile every time I read it. So pleased the pregnancy is progressing smoothly. The sickness is no fun, but sounds like it’s passing Grin

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 11/02/2022 14:04

Just read your thread OP. Congratulations and wishing you lots of happiness in the future with your little bundle of joy.

Omgwhatthehell · 11/02/2022 14:07

Thank you for all the well wishes again everyone Smile
It feels nice to know so many strangers are happy for us. And I'm really glad this is giving other people some hope.
I was chatting to the lady who took my blood at the 12 week scan and she reckons it happens quite often that couples struggle to conceive, decide to give up trying and reconcile themselves with it, then lo and behold they find themselves pregnant naturally.

@HaveringWavering I can't imagine we'll have any more after this, so it's nice to hear you are very happy as a little family of three.

CONGRATULATIONS OP!!!!! Wishing you a smooth pregnancy x

VirusgonnaVirus · 11/02/2022 14:16

Can't believe I've missed so many updates (or remember the last time I used this name, December feels like a world away)

Anyway so excited to see the scan, like proper excited. Also your due date is Harry Potters birthday (and JKR) so I think it proves it's magic.

Itsalmostanaccessory · 11/02/2022 14:17

Oh, what a lovely thread! How wonderful for you both!
You and your husband both sound like such happy and loving people. That baby is going to have 2 of the best parents it could get.

Congratulations, OP!

Raindancer411 · 11/02/2022 14:20

Congrats!! My husband was told he could never have kids without help, and showed me all his hospital paperwork to prove it. I fell pregnant naturally at 30, and years later again, I am now sitting next to 20 month old at 40!!! The second was a completely shock as thought the first time was a fluke!!

Outnumbered99 · 11/02/2022 14:23

Oh OP these threads are my most favourite thing about Mumsnet! Congratulations :-)

HaggisBurger · 11/02/2022 14:25

This thread made me really smile today!! Hoping it all continues to go well and you feel less nauseous. Your joy just radiates from your posts. Flowers

Shouldhavebutdidnt · 11/02/2022 14:34

Congratulations, what wonderful news. Like you we had given up after all the test showed it would never happen.

It did happen! Our little miracle is 3 and I’m 45.

Good luck Flowers

mylittleyumyum · 11/02/2022 14:43

I've read this thread start to finish with a huge smile on my face, so chuffed to be able to share this with you :)

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/02/2022 14:43

Congratulations! Dd is an ivf baby so I understand how precious an against the odds pregnancy must feel. She’s 13 now and I’m worrying about lots in her life. Your posts have instantly grounded me into realising just how lucky I am. Smile

I have old friends who adopted and then conceived, so there is only a year between the dc.

congratulations!

Spudlet · 11/02/2022 14:52

Just saw this thread on active, popped in, read all the OP’s posts and now I’m sitting here smiling ☺️ Congratulations and all the very very best!

NotSorry · 11/02/2022 14:55

ah I love this thread - thanks for updating OP and best wishes

Nat6999 · 11/02/2022 14:57

I was told my chances or conceiving were low due to pcos, I had just been referred to start the IVF journey & had just been given my first appointment, we went on holiday & I was in a funny mood, either arguing black was white or crying my eyes out all week, we came home I knew something wasn't right & did the last test I had at home, it was like yours a glowing bfp. Ds is 18 now, my miracle baby.

OystercatchersPaddling · 11/02/2022 15:04

Wonderful to read how you are doing OP. Best wishes xx
