What's wrong with being middle aged? Or a martial arts instructor?
There's nothing wrong with it. I am both of those things and I still found it funny. TBH, most martial arts instructors would, because we're quite robust about things generally (plus we've already run the gamut of people saying things like "Why do you wear pyjamas to do sport" and "You have to take off your shoes and socks before you get into a fight" etc)
On ill-advised outfits though- a few years ago I bought a lovely red and white polka dot, 50s style dress. It had a halter neck and a big skirt and I LOVED it. I put it on, it did wondrous things for my figure, so I skipped downstairs to show ds2.
Both my boys are lovely people, always say I look great-but I could tell by ds2's face that something was amiss. When I probed further , he reluctantly admitted that "You look like Minnie Mouse Mum".
I can handle being told I look like a middle aged martial arts instructor, but not Minnie Mouse
