So slightly different but I use amazon subscribe and save for some items as there is often an offer on for the first month and they work out cheaper if you set it up on there on a monthly subscription. It’s great in theory-except if you forget to skip a month. Currently I have 6 packs of plasters, 3 full first aid kits, 2 first aid replacement sets and........ 5 packs of aaa batteries🤣

Wife2Frog · 07/10/2020 18:12

That would make me very sad 😔

SilenceOfThePrams · 07/10/2020 18:15

Yes I have a cat. She went off it before we finished it though.

The local cat sanctuary was delighted!

Wonderful friend of mine (really) managed to order 40kgs of minced beef instead of 4kgs! Unfortunately it was in the early days of online shopping and retailers didn't do returns much back then, especially with fresh goods. She was a nanny to 4 children at the time, and they had to endure many cottage pies, bolognese and every other mince centred dish you could imagine over the next few weeks 🤣
I don't shop online for that reason as I know I could do exactly the same and worse!!

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 07/10/2020 18:47

I ordered 11 bottles of malt vinegar. Should of been 1 bottle. Anyone for chips Grin

gingercat02 · 07/10/2020 18:51

A friend (really!) once ordered 6kg of tomatoes rather than 6 tomatoes. Cue gallons of pasta sauce and tomato soup

Back in the late eighties, I bought twenty two sheep - by mistake!! We had bought a house with a small field and thought we’d keep a couple of sheep. Did our homework, learnt about their needs and how to take care of them. Sooooo - went to the local market. The sheep were in pens and I chose two that I liked the look of. When the bidding came I pointed at ‘my’ two sheep. Turns out I’ve bought two pen loads. Couldn’t get out of the transaction so had to hire a lorry to get them home. Then had to hire a lorry the following week to take twenty sheep back to market( kept two - no idea if they were the ones I had chosen as they all looked alike by then 😫) A very expensive exercise. Easy to make these mistakes - especially now with just a click on the button. Hey ho ! 😂

beth2702 · 07/10/2020 19:27

Does it really matter? There's an awful lot of dire stuff going on all around us, and across the world. Get a perspective.

Oh dear, I'm sure everyone must have just forgotten that we can't talk about anything thstvusnt depressing these. Its not about perspective, it's about just having a chat sometimes? FFS.

I end up with multiples of things because I'm too lazy to walk from the computer to the kitchen to see if we're out. Also, sometimes the sizes in the pictures look deceptive if you don't check them, so you end up with 6 giant tubs of yoghurt instead of 6 single serving pots. Also, before covid I had a weekly delivery slot. Ocado would put all the things it thought I wanted in the basket and then I was supposed to go through and remove the things I didn't want and add the things I did. The algorithm was not impressive, and would put in things I hadn't ordered for years, over and over again. And once every couple months I would forget to amend the order and be sent a week's worth of random groceries. My cupboard is permanently full of Grape Nuts because of this. Does anyone else do this?

Tomasinabombadil · 07/10/2020 21:23

@BlackberrySky
I’ve done that too, so disappointing. ☹️😂

Malbecqueen · 07/10/2020 22:10

I have just received 5 charging cables and 4 double plugs from Amazon... I thought I ordered 2 plugs and 2 cables... the cables are all completely wrong and don't fit a standard iphone plug. I have no idea how I have managed to do this... but it's not the first time...

With supermarket shops - it's the size thing that gets me. I have both the world's biggest and the world's smallest pots of black olives. The smallest was really expensive... and doesn't taste any different...

Jugglinglifewithbothhands · 07/10/2020 22:34

I've started the couch25k challenge with the app , only on run 2 and felt it was easier than the 1st! Anyone else doing it?

ToastyCrumpet · 07/10/2020 22:37

raises hand wearily 12 bottles of golden syrup. I gave 10 to the food bank.

gurteee · 08/10/2020 03:47

@Giganticshark

I pick customers shopping. You'd be amazed how many times it happens. We also get people ordering 40 tins of peaches, it's not an error haha
You must have some laughs and good stories Grin

That's cats for you! I have a 4kg bag (ordered deliberately) of Arden Grange cat food. Arrived yesterday. Cat better not go off it!

At least your cat sanctuary scored!

My mum is the worst at online shopping. She accidentally ordered 5 full large watermelons once. No idea how that happened. Other times she ordered a single potato for a family of four or a tiny baked beans can
