Thought I ordered 4 baking potatoes turned out it was 4 packs so I had 16. Blush

rosesinmygarden · 10/10/2020 08:17

I've ordered 1 kg of ginger instead if 1 piece of ginger on more than one occasion.

And 1 banana instead of 1 bunch.

I think the drivers must find it hilarious when they realise.

daisychain01 · 10/10/2020 20:29

1kg of ginger isn't actually that much -we use that in a week. Mind you I could live on ginger!

IsHeLyingAgain · 11/10/2020 00:01

It's not the drivers who think it's strange. They have no idea what's in the totes. It's the shoppers who wonder who's that strange person ordering a single banana, onion and carrot. Who tf orders a single new potato? BTW, I'm an online

IsHeLyingAgain · 11/10/2020 00:04

I'm an online shopper. I don't know why it only posted half of my post

Mypathtriedtokillme · 11/10/2020 00:20

Everytime I buy anything online from decathlon they seem to send my order weirdly every time.
I ordered a wetsuit for DD and have received 3 of them, in 3 different packages and someone else’s order completely.

When I raise it with them no one seems to know what the hell I’m talking about.
Ie: “I have my order but have been sent a duplicate order. Do you want it returned?”
and soon after another one arrives.

It’s about 11 cups of ginger Shock
(according to conversion site)

Yogawithmydog · 11/10/2020 13:49

The people who order 12 kilos of bananas etc- do you ever look at the price of your order before you confirm it?

This is what gets me. The prices are on there, you see your total estimated charge, you get an email to confirm and people are still surprised when things turn up. Maybe I'm one of the few who actually double checks their order and then reads their emails Grin although I'd happily have any spare cheese straws going 😋

Tangledtresses · 11/10/2020 15:17

Oh this is making me laugh... I have bought many weird things on click and collect

1kg of ginger
It's a lot of ginger 😂😂

Tangledtresses · 11/10/2020 15:21

@SummerHouse

I went into panic mode as I feel uncomfortable with someone delivering my shopping like a servant. I know this is ridiculous. So I compensated by being overly excited and exclaimed "oh wow!!! Cornettos!!!" Delivery man: "Did you not order them?" Me: "Yes, yes I did!" Confused
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

When you only need it for 1 stir fry it's quite a bit! But I wizzed it up and froze it for future stirfrys and Currys 😀

@Localocal

I end up with multiples of things because I'm too lazy to walk from the computer to the kitchen to see if we're out. Also, sometimes the sizes in the pictures look deceptive if you don't check them, so you end up with 6 giant tubs of yoghurt instead of 6 single serving pots. Also, before covid I had a weekly delivery slot. Ocado would put all the things it thought I wanted in the basket and then I was supposed to go through and remove the things I didn't want and add the things I did. The algorithm was not impressive, and would put in things I hadn't ordered for years, over and over again. And once every couple months I would forget to amend the order and be sent a week's worth of random groceries. My cupboard is permanently full of Grape Nuts because of this. Does anyone else do this?
My neighbours had this problem during the worst of lock down so we all started swapping stuff, I kinda miss it now 😂

Ginger:

It's a known anti-inflammatory, good for immunity and great for digestion. That why we've been eating more than normal this year (esp for an immunity boost).

You can slice it up, put into a pan of water, then simmer for about 30-45 mins, strain the liquid, which makes a lovely warming and soothing drink. The cooked ginger is great sliced up (easiest way is to use kitchen scissors) and very easy to eat, sprinkled on salads, in stir fry, on any dish you like.

Chunked up very small, you can add it to puddings, like rice pudding, fruit salad, on porridge for a bit of a zing first thing! I'm eating some atm, nectarine/kiwi fruit/blackberry salad with little chunks of ginger mixed in with natural yoghurt.

We had a rogue computer error for a Waitrose order a few years ago to a holiday cottage. Basically recieved 3 x everything I ordered. Bags and bags of shopping arrived at the cottage. The driver would not take it back even though we hadn’t paid for it and there was seemingly no way of getting in contact with the store.
In the end I called the holiday rental company, explained what had happened and three of their employees came round to help themselves. My mum took some of the things that didn’t go off quickly to the local church.

I have honestly never seen that much shopping before, we could have opened a corner shop!
