Ooooo - they should totally use this thread as part of their marketing campaign!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 08/03/2020 17:16

I was here for the original thread but then for some reason got busy. I am FINALLY caught up! I can't believe I'm caught up. What will I do now?!

sunshinesupermum · 08/03/2020 17:45

where is everyone parked today OP?

originalcatlady · 08/03/2020 18:36

Quiet day today. No ones been out.

C is in X
B is in 1/2
D is in 2/3
Strange car is in 4.
Mr and Mrs K are next to X.

If A has a garage why does he need a space marked on the street?

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 08/03/2020 19:40

I posted a link to the Olaf thread on Wednesday, though I didn't mention him by name! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3837189-It-s-a-parking-one?pg=1&messages=100

FNuts · 08/03/2020 20:06

Can anyone get in their garage these days?

SpinachQueen · 08/03/2020 23:31

FNuts Oooh, oooh... actually I can! ((Smug)) We cleaned the garage this weekend!

Weenurse · 09/03/2020 03:33

I can, but park in the court as easier and quicker to go to work at 6.15 every morning.
We also fall have our preferred spots in the court 😎

harriethoyle · 09/03/2020 08:34

The parking in X really grinds my gears... (much like Mrs B at 5am I suspect)

MaggieFS · 09/03/2020 08:46

I don't understand how it can be marked out as a disabled space if it's across his driveway anyway!

originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 09:44

Well I don't know the ins and outs but I suspect it's to do with mobility - the people collecting him can park at the side of the house so he can get straight into to car if X is reserved only for him.

Today the street is oddly full. B has been in 1/2 for days - it's like she can't move once she achieves it. However, C has returned and parked in 2/3, "almost touching" her bumper, and a Strange Car has done the same in 1, assuming to try as much as possible to not be in X, as there is nowhere else to park.

F is still missing and there is a van parked there. Pretty sure the new neighbours arrival is imminent (next door but one to G).

Crumbs! How will B get out if she's nearly touching on both sides!!!
Shock

TeetotalKoala · 09/03/2020 13:16

And she's got to go to work soon hasn't she?

originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 13:30

I'm ready Brew

BruceAndNosh · 09/03/2020 13:35

Well, it's B's fault for parking in 1/2 and leaving a gap between her and X. Just inviting someone to squeeze in there

We have on free (one hour) street bay parking in my large village. Just long bays, not subdivided.
The Council have worked out how much generous space to leave on either side of drives etc, so I get really annoyed when someone parks 4 feet from the end of the bay, wasting space. Then someone does the same at the other end of the bay and the result is 3 cars in a bay that has plenty of room for 4...

originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 13:37

It's like everyday here...2 cars in a space for 3!

originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 14:04

So. She found the owner of Strange Car by knocking on all the doors and harassing everyone, until she found them and told them they had to move as they had blocked her in. Huff, rev, screech and off she goes. Continues at 10pm 😉

OP posts:
sunshinesupermum · 09/03/2020 14:53

knocked on all the doors B really is unbelievable.

BruceAndNosh · 09/03/2020 15:46

Where do people park when Alphabet Street is "Full"?
Is there more space a road or two over?

WhatICallMyUsername · 09/03/2020 16:24

Where did the strange car owner live?!

originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 16:28

They were visitors to another house.

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 16:32

Ohhh well we have some time yet...but it's a mess...

Mrs K is in 4.
Which meant that new neighbours had to park in 3. But didn't make a very good job of it. Which meant that D had to park in 1/2.

Strange Car and Mr K are by X.

Which means that if it stays as is, there is no space for B, C or F Grin

OP posts:
originalcatlady · 09/03/2020 16:33

@BruceAndNosh yes they would have to park in other streets, which are also increasingly rammed, hence our quite new frequency of Strange Cars.
