My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

I need wine for this.

I'm on the app. Got to the bottom without clicking 'watch thread' so had to scroll up carefully begging my app not to freeze and restart (as it constantly does!).

So, theyve been round.
They brought men.
They apparently were in the street for a bit watching to see if we were in and when they saw DH they came round.
DH answered and they launched into their speech about how unreasonable he had been, how they were only going to be a minute, he never normally parks there so why would he mind etc.
After them talking at him for so long he just called over his shoulder for me and walked away. They obviously didn't realise it was me who blocked them in. So they start again and without even asking politely or apologising, they are straight on the defensive.

So, I looked deep inside my soul, took a deep breath and held up my half drunk glass of wine and explained that I was unable to drive right now.

They asked if DH could shift the car but he said he had also been drinking so couldn't.
They asked if neighbour could shift her car and I repeated what she said before.
One of the men said "so what do you suggest then?" (While puffing out his chest) and DH said, very deadpan, "I suggest you don't park in people's drive ways in future. We'll move the car tomorrow at 10"

And that was that! Door shut.
