She has been living in our wood store for the last few weeks and for the last two we have been leaving food out. We put details up on local facebook pages, leaflet dropped and put posters up in local shop etc. No-one came forward so I took her to local vet and had her scanned for a chip. Nothing there and the vet told me she has a cigarette burn on her neck Angry

she is beautiful, friendly and sweet- a fluffy tabby with the foxiest brush of a tail. Vet reckons she is around eight months old

we cannot keep her as our boy is an only cat and detests all other cats. He will go walkabout if she stays as he's done that to previous owners. She is very sweet with him and is well socialised

I live just outside Durham- please pm me if you can help

thank you

Glad Sherlock is revitalised by her absence, you did a great thing Gatekeeper for your own boy as well as for the kitten.

quality cat care :)

Lovely thread.

We are just approaching Gloucester and on the M5 SW straight. So about another 2 hours to go. We just had a quick stop and some food, Heidi had a drink and some chicken :) she's settled on her blanket piles again now. She's very quiet but I'm sure when we get home she will be more vocal! Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/11/2017 18:25

Gloucester Services for cat snacks? She's training you to her high expectations already! 😀

StewPots · 26/11/2017 18:30

@Weedsnseeds1 Hehe no stopped just before that! It is a lovely services though! I had a sausage roll from there once nearly sold the car to pay for it mind 😁

HolgerDanske · 26/11/2017 18:33

Waves as you pass us on the M5!!!

Notsooriginalwerther · 26/11/2017 18:48

Most definately my favourite thread on MN. Vote for classics! I wanted to have a little weep at how wonderful this story is. And this is most definately fate, especially your waking in the night with the name Heidi, it is just perfect, she couldn’t be anyone else!

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/11/2017 18:49

I'm waving too!

Are you my neighbour Wolfie?

Wolfiefan · 26/11/2017 18:50

Could be Bore. Could be!

StewPots · 26/11/2017 18:52

Waves a HUGE wave at anyone along the soul-destroying length of the M5 on the plus side at least I'm not in Cornwall as that's another 2-3 hours on the old A38!

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/11/2017 18:55

Hmm... neighbour has a boxer though.

Although it could be a wolfhound wearing camouflage Grin

Wolfiefan · 26/11/2017 18:59

She is bandaged at the mo.
Agh the A38!! Shock

kittensinmydinner1 · 26/11/2017 19:35

Have lurked from the beginning but just explained all to DH (who doesn't really 'get' kitty love..- they mostly treat him as staff) but after reading this appears hmm hmm to have something in his eye.. whilst muttering 'jolly good' 'too right' 'good people' and other manly type things...
I agree wholeheartedly. Should be rightly proud of yourselves Mr &Mrs Stewpot

LavenderDoll · 26/11/2017 19:43

Such a lovely thread.
Made me weep.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/11/2017 19:44

Yes, good on mr stewpot doing all the driving. My dad would advise all men to say yes to new cats immediately as he prevaricated for 48hrs once & kitty was gone.

30 years later you can still cause an atmosphere by asking what was that kittens name that dad said no to?.

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/11/2017 19:47

Gloucester southbound has lovely fish and a butcher's counter, that would have blown her little kitty mind!
Wolfie and bore you might be my neighbours! J21 is my exit!

StewPots · 26/11/2017 20:04

Finally in my home county!! So about an hour to go still. Very tired now and very bored of motorways Grinjust refuelled one last time so then it's a mad rush to my home town and drop my mum off who's very kindly had DC for us :)

Toooldtobearsed · 26/11/2017 20:09

Bet you drop like a stone once you get home Stew, its been a long day. Are you at work tomorrow?

Hope everyone sleeps well.

WindowWiper · 26/11/2017 20:14

@Fluffycloudland77 Grin

Such a long day for you, @Stewpost + mr Stewpot, well done. Flowers
Hope kitty settles tonight and doesn’t decide to do a loud reccy
of her new abode.
