I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and I'm so sorry if not.

catthiefkeith passed away today.

I know there are mumsnetters who know her know how amazing she is, and I just wanted to raise a glass to her memory on here, where she brought a smile to so many faces with her stories of her mad life.

Rest in peace lovely lady.

I'd like to donate too. Yes we could donate to any meningitis charity, but I'd like to do it in CTK name. I'd love a PM if possible.

If you want to donate directly to a meningitis charity then you can still do it in CTKs name. It also would mean 100% of the money would go to the charity. Just Giving keeps a small percentage of each donation.

How do you do it in CTK name? Would her family know and see the support? I don't know her real name.

PringlesInMyPants. You can search by 'Started By' only.

When you're in AS there's a heading/box called 'Search type'. The default setting is 'Search messages', but if you click on that there's a small drop-down box where you can click on the second option down, which is 'Search by thread titles only'. That will only find threads started by a specific MNer.

Having said that, that's how it works on the desktop site - I'm not sure if it's the same on the mobile site or the App.

It is the same for searching on the mobile site.

Both charities have the option to donate in memory of a named person, and there won't be the justgiving cut taken.

Might be a better option for now, so CTK's family don't feel overwhelmed by mumsnet invasion on the page they set up, and it does out her when she may not have wanted that.

CTK was a friend of my DP and we were talking about her at the weekend as I was looking for a contact in his phone and she had the same first name as the contact I was looking for so he was telling me about her.

Really really sad about this. She was one of the posters I always thought I'd like to go to the pub with. Thinking of the family and those who knew her.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I loved the stuck in tent post.
Two young people have died of meningitis in the last 2 years at my DD college, unfortunately the take up rate for the vaccine is only 30%. A campaign to highlight meningitis especially as many DC head of to uni or start college is extremely worthwhile campaign.

I loved her threads. Devasted to hear this news.

I'm so sorry to hear this, her posts were always so warm and funny. Absolutely heartbreaking for her family.

That just giving page gave CTK's real name. MN is crawling with journalists. Just because most of us would be sensitive with the information doesn't mean that others would be.

Far better to donate to the meningitis charities linked above.

I'm just thinking, her daughter is very young, only around 6?

Sorry if this is insensitive but for those that knew her in real life, maybe you could go through some of her posts about some of her funnier stories, not the personal private life ones and print them off for her daughter to read when she's older?

I was thinking that too Josiah . Maybe make her threads into a book to be given to her daughter when she reaches 18

I've only just seen this thread and wanted to send my condolences to her friends and family. As many others have said I didn't know her irl and generally I don't take much notice of user names but hers was on of the few I always remembered and looked out for because she was frankly hilarious her threads we're always so vibrant and entertaining. I agree with not outing Keith to her family. Her husband knows, he can share it if he wants to.

That being said, I am sure a justgiving page for meningitis research in the name of CatThiefKeith would be allowed to stand. MNHQ, would it?

Then it can be shared with her husband and it may bring some comfort.

We felt it unfair that her MN and RL were linked, so if you can find a way around that, please do feel free and we will allow the link to stand on this thread.
