The living room door and squeezy bottles that make fart noises.
Try and find anything more terrifying! Bet you can't Wink

National Express coaches Hmm

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 27/04/2017 21:47

Don't know whether she was actually scared or not but our old dog used to get proper cross if we ever gave her food that was too hot - she used to bark and bark at it til it cooled down.
She was a bit scared of cats as well Grin

YorkshireTree · 27/04/2017 22:02

My Granny's poodle was scared of black men. Lived in a very white village and if she saw properly dark skinned men (lighter tones were ignored as were black women) the damn dog would bark herself sick. HIGHLY embarrassing having to take a racist dog on the bus.

Avocuddle · 27/04/2017 22:04

I was doing a good job at suppressing the giggles but then Glass said mushrooms and I genuinely very nearly choked GrinGrin

The cat....potentially. The problem is he isn't really frightened of anything which isn't always a good thing...
The other day another dog was mean/aggressive to him, ran up to him being Barry and growling didiotdog sat on him (he's not that big...Cockerpoo)

AirBiscuitEater · 27/04/2017 22:06

Rattling of a crisp packet Grin

Theworldisfullofidiots · 27/04/2017 22:06

Barky not Barry!

Mumteedum · 27/04/2017 22:24

Omg a racist poodle 🐩! GrinShock

Desperateforsleepzzzz · 27/04/2017 22:24

Anyone with a hat, hood, umbrella, walking stick or baby sling 😐

Bubble2bubble · 27/04/2017 22:25

Flags, windsurfers and potentially any random object that flaps in the wind.
Roadworks. Men in hi-vis.

hometownunicorn · 27/04/2017 22:37

This thread is fantastic. I've been reading them all out to my OH.

My dog barks at saucepans and colanders left near the edge of the kitchen surface. Not sure if he's scared or just worried they'll fall off.

He's really scared of my bike (but did knock it over as a pup, quite loudly, which might explain that). He hates it when I pump up the tyres especially.

Also scared of the hoover. But that's pretty normal.

AgainPlease · 27/04/2017 22:39

I've had a right laugh at these Grin

My little dachshund:
Cats
Anyone in a hat
Anyone wearing a helmet/Deliveroo guys
The hoover. Either on or off
Brooms
The lawnmower
Escalators. He literally whines when approaching down or up escalators on the tube. Lucky for me he's only 5kg so I can carry him.

Love my dog sometimes more than people 🐶

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 27/04/2017 22:40

Headbands with reindeer antlers on.

Me with my hair down

nigelforgotthepassword · 27/04/2017 22:42

The Hoover, any sort of brush from garden brooms to hairbrushes, the ironing board. And today the tripod being used by the photographer from the estate agent sent him up the wall.
No background to any of those as we have had him since he was tiny.

katyou · 27/04/2017 22:44

The hoover or the hairdryer. I swear he waits on me getting out of the shower and then runs to the hairdryer to stare it out. Dogs are weird Confused

Wolfiefan · 27/04/2017 22:47

@SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower
Like these you mean?!

Random shit you dog is scared of
TheGiantSausage · 27/04/2017 22:47

The wheelie bin.
Hedgehogs.
Her own shadow in car reflections Grin
The postman so unoriginal
One particular cat, not all cats, just this one.

She's the cutest little whimp though!

DancingLedge · 27/04/2017 22:48

The road.
Yep, that's right , not the traffic, the road itself.
A section was repaired. It was darker in colour.
She refused to walk on it, and was reluctant to walk past on the other side.

Crumblevision · 27/04/2017 22:50

Her own shadow. Silly dog!

Boredbeforeievenbegan · 27/04/2017 22:50

An ornamental donkey bought from Manchester Christmas markets.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 27/04/2017 22:51

Exactly like that Wolfie.

Oh god. I've just remembered when we tried to put tinsel on his collar.

BlooBagoo · 27/04/2017 22:51

One of them is scared of the wind, moving shadows, the dark, reflections and water (unless it's in a water bowl). The other one is scared of loud noises.

A friend has a dog (big scary looking mixed breed) who is scared of his own farts. My parents used to have a dog who was scared of their hamster.

Desperateforsleepzzzz · 27/04/2017 22:51

Oh and lone joggers

OhBlissOhJoy · 27/04/2017 22:53

Her dinner.
Most of the time she is fine but every couple of days she'll be halfway through and it will suddenly make her jump and run away Hmm Grin

angus6 · 27/04/2017 22:55

Where to start?

Big bangs
The hoover
The mop
The sweeping brush
Tiled floors
Closed doors
Men in black tracksuit bottoms
Cutlery
The sound of rain
Thunder
The sound of planes overhead
The lawn mower
The shower
The groomers
Buses
Bin liners
Some houses
Some cars
Some people
Whistling
Bird scarers
Sudden movements
Angry voices

He's a rescue dog. He was 2 when we got him and he's been with us for 4 years, but sometimes I think the list of things he's scared of grows longer every passing year. 🙁
