With a human skull in the garden?

Slippersandacuppa · 07/05/2016 20:45

Because I've never been in this situation before.

We've been tidying up the garden and have piles of rubble all over the place. One of our rickety old fences borders a graveyard (very old belonging to ancient church) and I'm assuming the skull sort of drifted under our fence and has been near the top of the soil for a while. I hope.

I've googled but can't seem to find much info. I'll be contacting the parish council on Monday but wondered if it warrants a call to 101 (or whatever it is) to register it just in case it's not a graveyard wanderer Confused

Anyone had a similar experience?!

I'm definitely up for it if there'll be lashing of ginger beer! God I miss ginger beer...

SoupDragon · 09/05/2016 12:41

Possible medieval helmets? How exciting!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 09/05/2016 13:12

Also very excited, although I feel it might get a bit tedious for you, Slippers - I'd love to come too but am really too far away to do so.

but I'll have a Wine for you and hope that more exciting stuff turns up! Grin

SocialDisaster · 09/05/2016 13:29

I could bring my hand gardening tools.

Janefromdowntheroad · 09/05/2016 14:12

Scanned but can't see if you said or not?!

Carrot cake is my favourite if you're offering though I'll accept a lemon drizzle...
My brother goes on digs, can borrow his small trowel and brush.

HookedOnHooking · 09/05/2016 14:44

I'll come. Not too far away. Will make lovely GF lemon drizzle and bring a spoon and sieve

Slippersandacuppa · 09/05/2016 14:51

I did look moderately charming yesterday - floppy hat and everything (although it was perched atop my head as it belongs to the four year old).

I'll fashion a veggie lasagne too. That should keep you all going for a few hours.

Jane no word today but I promise I'll report back as soon as there's movement. I should have taken his number.

zzzzz I have squillions of the things as well. 22 at last count, excluding DH. Bring them along, we'll find something for them to do. They can climb trees, go for a cycle, explore an old cave, Have Fun Together.

Ooh and I do love lemon drizzle. Or coffee and walnut.

Helena Could your brother come too? That way we'll have expert guidance on the dig bit and the bone bit's pretty well covered by our resident experts. Sorted.

zzzzz dh has learned not to be fazed by anything mn leads me to anymore. He'd probably say "have a nice day and don't let ds2 bring any body parts home"

Slippersandacuppa · 09/05/2016 16:25

But you wouldn't be able to leave without a goody bag ShockWink

Some are furry, some feathered and some slimy.

Both, as it happens Grin

I could add snaillings to the party bags if that makes a difference?

OP posts:
LMGTFY · 09/05/2016 16:48

How about I bring a goody bag instead? Pimms is surely most appropriate for the event?

HelenaJustina · 09/05/2016 18:26

Am sure my brother would jump at the chance...

Can bring my 4DC as slave labour, happy to let them be as 1950s as we deem appropriate. My brother is a dab hand with all things dependent. There will be a lot of sipping tea, watching while he supervises the actual hard work.

HookedOnHooking · 09/05/2016 18:32

I'd rather leave my offspring and come alone if that's ok. More Pimms and lemon drizzle to go around.

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 09/05/2016 18:48

Can I come? I've been following, I can bring gin Wink

Ouriana i've just being googling about, does it look like a lytic lesion?

Slippersandacuppa · 09/05/2016 18:54

Oooh, get you Cap! Very impressive terminology.

The more the merrier. Yes to slave labour (my six year old regularly cleans the staircase and the four year old is pretty good with a potato peeler, both of which could come in handy).

I might also ship them off for the day so I can be a proper host Wink
