There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

Sold our summerhouse on gum tree. Dude came to look at it this morning about 9am, paid and was back by 11 to dismantle it. DH all togged up to assist but the guy politely and firmly refused as he wanted to take it apart himself so he could put it back together himself.

He pulled his van into our side return and installed a tiny elderly Korean lady (he is also Korean) on a deck chair on our patio.

He then spent an hour writing on every plank and taking 1500 photographs.

He then spent two hours peeling off the roof felt painstakingly. Korean lady has been to toilet twice. As far as I can see she is here for the day out.

However she has just been to the car and produced steaming hot noodles, broth and vegetables and they have had a lovely leisurely lunch on the patio.

He has just now resumed work and has actually started to remove the planks. Slowly. Methodically. I know because he has told me that there are 85 planks. Plus window. To removed and carry to car. DHs help has again been refused although he has taken matters into his own hands a bit and is carrying planks to car.

Elderly lady back on deck chair.

Help!! We want to go out and thought that this would take 2-3 hours max. It's been 4 and only the roof felt is off. We could lock the back door and leave them in the garden but what about elderly lady's toilet needs???? And water etc? They have a little tea break (from a flask) every now and then and have refused drinks but they must need water at some point.

Hi guys, thank you all for the lovely comments. I assure you the magic was all EKL. I merely narrated.

Anyway, INCIDENT!!!!

Got back from our day out today. Opened the porch and there were 2 packs of Korean Marlboro Lights in there.

(DH does smoke but obv not near DS or EKL, but did have a few when tree-felling)

DH texted KM saying hi, hope summerhouse went up ok etc, did you leave some cigarettes in the porch?

And KM has just texted back "yes. Thank for summerhouse"

!!!!

MorphineDreams · 10/08/2014 21:07

Awww

EBearhug · 10/08/2014 21:28

I hope your son will get to meet EKL again, it sounds like they made a real connection.

noddingoff · 10/08/2014 21:29

EKL was actually Gandalf in disguise.

enormouse · 10/08/2014 21:35

So pleased there's been a further development in this saga. I agree with waffly.

There is a tiny elderly Korean lady in my garden and I want to go out.

I am CRYING laughing at the updates. Agreed, absolutely classic title. Must be a starting-point for OP's novel?

Coumarin · 10/08/2014 21:41

Are the cigarettes for your DH? Left by KM as a thank you or is KM going to pop back for them? Hoping it's the latter and he brings EKL with him.

Coumarin · 10/08/2014 21:42

I really want that visor Merry I bet everything looks and feels better when you're wearing a visor like that.

I reckon that's EKL's secret. The power is in the pink visor.

enormouse · 10/08/2014 21:45

Wonder woman had her bracelets and lasso of truth.

EKL has the pink visor of awesomeness.

LittlePeasMummy1 · 10/08/2014 21:59

Absolutely divine thread, feel like I've had a gentle hug and a cup of warm milk after reading. Thank you so much for sharing OP.

Beavie · 10/08/2014 22:28

Hold on, were the cigarettes there before you left? Or did they come round again today to drop them off? If so, they clearly wanted to come and hang out with you for the day and sit on the patio smoking fags, and you MISSED THEM!

Boysclothes · 10/08/2014 22:31

The cigs were new and a gift!

DH has refused to indulge further my EKL fetish and has simply texted KM a thanks. No invite. I've kicked him out, obv.

Well he bought it on himself.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 10/08/2014 22:34

EKL needs to sort out bromley and shiny haired boy.

Wink
Boysclothes · 10/08/2014 22:37

Seen it. I strongly suspect she would simply have turned her head slightly, still whilst sitting in her chair, looked at them impassively for a few moments and then turned back to look the summerhouse whilst giving DS a quick squeeze (he'd be on her lap).

"Pink visor of awesomeness"
Pure joy.
Please MN put this in Classics!

TheReluctantCountess · 10/08/2014 22:48

I suspect you are protected by some sort of EKL magic now.

Coumarin · 10/08/2014 22:50

Perhaps the Pink Visor could become the new MN scarf.

ChoosandChipsandSealingWax · 10/08/2014 22:56

Ooh or a Pink Visor emoticon??! Pretty please MNHQ!

Pipbin · 10/08/2014 22:57
