A plea for help in finding this Maileg Mouse!

I can't bear it any longer!
DD7 lost her dear, much loved Maileg Mouse on our camping trip last year in France. She broke her heart and even tonight, we had some tears (she's also tired and strung out with tonsillitis, so very much run down). I've attempted many times to find a replacement online but no luck. They do still sell them, but with varying themes and styles.

DD's mouse looks very much like this one, but a browny mouse with brown/faun clothes instead of pink. I've searched everywhere and my only hope really is ebay so I keep checking. The other hope is that someone out there has one that's sitting and not really adored, and is willing to sell it to me!

I think you forgot to add a link Smile

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 21:51

Ah bugger. Bloody lost the page now. Off to find it again. Shit head that I am.

Fluke! Found it. It's the brown mouse. It's actually quite similar to Matilda the Mouse we lost. So ignore the pink one.

I adore Maileg, that mouse is gorgeous.

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:06

Adore is the word, Sarah. DD's little Matilda was such a part of our family.
I've been searching now for nearly a year with no luck.

I wouldn't really pursue it, but DD asks for NOTHING. Seriously. She's 8 this year and doesn't seem to be caught up with iToys/computers/glittery shoes and the like. She's a geek (a very adorable one) and she had this little mouse clutched in her hand almost constantly. Gawd knows what happened, but she misses her so.

Oh bugger bugger bugger. Got a bit teary for her then.

Have you emailed the Mouse in A Box people? They might be able to help/have old stock/one sitting one someone's desk?

Happy to do it for you!

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:09

mainly because I've just glugged a strong G&T

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 26/03/2013 22:10

mouse in a box

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:14

Really? Would you? Valpollicella thank you - that's so kind.
I'm running out of ideas...

I've got this romantic idea of getting hold of replacement Matilda and putting them in a little tree in the campsite where we're staying again, this year. Either that, or popping Matilda2 in an envelope with a little label tied around her leg stating, 'Return to Loving Owner'.

OP posts:
LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:16

putting Matilda, not them. Certainly not my DD.

Shit. Too strong a G&T, Can't bloody type.

Valpollicella · 26/03/2013 22:17

Found loads on eBay under soft toys and animals.

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:38

Really Rhonda?!
I've always entered Maileg Mouse into the search box - am I being too specific? What did you enter? Dare I get excited...

MysteriousHamster · 26/03/2013 22:38

I've seen some of these in a shop near where I work so I'll look tomorrow lunchtime. Probably won't have one but you never know.

Beamur · 26/03/2013 22:42

This shop near me stocks them too - might be worth asking if they have the specific one you want? If they don't post it, but could do you a sale over the phone, I could post it to you if you PM's me your address.

SuburbanRhonda · 26/03/2013 22:43

I went to Toys and Games, then Soft Toys and Animals, then just typed Maileg Mouse in the search box. I'd send you the link, but it's on my iPad, so no link. The ones I'm looking at right now are the girl ones with red hats, there are two, one is £14.95 buy it now + £1 p&p, the other is £13.95 buy it now +£2.70 p&p. Go, go, go!

MysteriousHamster · 26/03/2013 22:46

She's after a specific brown mouse, Rhonda, not just any one unfortunately :(

Or at least I can't find the right one on eBay either.

LittleEsme · 26/03/2013 22:48

Rhonda - I think they're not quite the same. I won't be able to fool DD Sad
Thanks ever so much for helping though. I really appreciate it.

OP posts:
SuburbanRhonda · 26/03/2013 22:48

Oh, sorry, I was looking for the one in the link, with the little red hat. I was getting excited myself then Sad.

SuburbanRhonda · 26/03/2013 22:48

Not as easy as replacing a hamster, then.
