A plea for help in finding this Maileg Mouse!

I can't bear it any longer!
DD7 lost her dear, much loved Maileg Mouse on our camping trip last year in France. She broke her heart and even tonight, we had some tears (she's also tired and strung out with tonsillitis, so very much run down). I've attempted many times to find a replacement online but no luck. They do still sell them, but with varying themes and styles.

DD's mouse looks very much like this one, but a browny mouse with brown/faun clothes instead of pink. I've searched everywhere and my only hope really is ebay so I keep checking. The other hope is that someone out there has one that's sitting and not really adored, and is willing to sell it to me!

Gorgeous thread, so happy you have found a mouse Grin

If you do postcards donkey me know. More than happy to send one from here (London) and we have relatives in Paris who could send one too (and New York, Montreal, Sydney and could try for South Africa too)

I lost my favorite penguin when I was 5 and have never forgotten him.. You're a wonderful mummy to do this for her xx

UPDATE:

Little Mouse has still not arrived! Sad
I'm waiting for the company to call back now as I type this - only occurred to me this morning that we're still waiting. DD3 has been in the throes of sickness and diarrhea for days now so life has taken a bit of a stop - I'd forgotten everything til now!

I'm going to have to speak sternly I think - I ordered this on the 27th March!

I wonder if they don't have it after all :(

If they don't, do consider getting one of the little boys with the same colourways, I'm sure someone here could help with a skirt. Ring them and shout when you get a moment!

Have you tried Maileg.dk in Denmark? They make them!
The importer (and wholesaler) in the UK is scandi chic in Berkshire, they have public barn sales which you can go along to, and uncover treasure from their old stock.

Update:

Still no Mouse, BUT today, thanks to someone (PLEASE tell me who sorted this), a post card arrived from Little Mouse from Canada. It said that she'd spent her Winter playing with the baby polar bears and was missing my DD very much.

I'm assured by the company that Mouse is definitely going to arrive so...

...I sent DD to get the post today from the porch (post-card planted nicely amongst the letters) and she spotted the card straight away.

Honestly, it was something out of a film. She sat absent-mindedly at the kitchen table, reading the card, and I saw her jaw drop. I asked her to read it out and she filled up with tears. Huge grin.

This is the stuff of dreams. I cannot thank you enough. Please let me know who you are. My little girl has gone to bed, clutching the post-card and grinning.

Aww, how lovely. I hope your DD's mouse arrives really soon, the look on her face will be priceless!

This is such a heartwarming thread Smile.

I'd offer postcard services but I seriously doubt Matilda would take a detour through West Yorkshire! Wink

Another Update:

DD has now received a post-card from Canada and Hungary.

Another two have arrived, one from Sydney and another from Cambridge. Both of which I'm hiding so that I can drip-feed them to her to hopefully buy myself more time until little Mouse arrives.

On a positive note, I telephoned the owners of Llewelyn and Co and a really, really nice man called back. I explained my plight and he said he's personally going to re tell my story to Maileg Denmark and try his best to hunt one down. ALSO, I've emailed loads of Maileg's from around the world, and within the hour, I've had a reply from Denmark asking for my address!!

Dare I hope?!? I've sent it along with the insistence that I pay for postage and mouse.

I have been checking in on this to find out the reaction when your DD got her mouse. So sorry it's still not arrived.... I thought one was on its way to you??
Please do keep us updated Grin
Pm me if you need another postcard but like a previous poster said..... Perhaps Yorkshire isn't the most enthrawling location Smile

OrchidFlakes, Thanks and Flowers and Wine
I'm totally humbled by all this. You Star.
I've hidden the Sydney post card until I can get more news of Mouse's arrival, but you should have seen her face when the Canada postcard arrived. I can't really put it into words. It Was Awesome.
Thank You. Thank You.

Hi there,
I stumbled across your message regarding the matchbox mouse your daughter lost. I have a daughter who has just turned nine so completely understand how much they can love a certain toy, anyway trying not to ramble on, I stock and sell Maileg items and after reading all of the messages I really wanted to help. Now I do hope this will help. After searching through my stock room, I managed to find the following mouse, I often have random mice left that I just keep. Well here is a picture of the mouse I have... Please contact me if this is the mouse design you have been searching for? I have just uploaded the image via the blog for my website, if the link doesn't work below please view it via my website; www.thechiccountryhome.co.uk

Fingers crossed it is the mouse you are after as I would love to help.
Warm regards,
Faye

I've emailed EVERY Maileg company in the World. So many have replied and not been able to help. I was really starting to lose hope and was frantically trying to think of a back-up plan.

FAYE!!!! I'm doing a little dance around my lounge. This feels SOOO good.
And - I have one little post-card left to give. I was hanging onto it to buy myself more time.
