Thanks, Bonkey! Just accepted your friend request as well.
If any other Puddlehumpers want to add me, my profile pic is me in semi-profile with very short (but growing back) hair. Or, PM me and I'll give you my name.
Sorry I've been absent but things have been a bit fraught. Long story short:
DZH's mum died in April. The Grant of Probate came through in August. DZH went to Nottingham a couple of weeks ago for the weekend. The local Residents Association which covers two streets have an annual / bi-annual cricket match between the streets and this year instituted a trophy in memory of DZH's parents. He went up for the match. While he was there it became blindingly obvious that his brother, who is co-executor and who lives a 10 minute drive from Mum's house, has done fuck all about getting the house ready to be sold. And now, he's "too busy". So, DZH stayed on in Nottingham instructing estate agent, organising insurance (old policy expiring tomorrow) and clearing / sorting / cleaning the house. He came home last weekend but is back up there this week carrying on with the clearing / sorting / cleaning.
The good news is that the house is now on the market. The listing went live on Wednesday and the first viewing was that evening. There was another viewing yesterday morning but that one was a private referral from a neighbour. There are already 6 more viewings arranged. One is tomorrow morning and as the EA has no one available to do an accompanied viewing, DZH is staying to do it himself. He will be home tomorrow evening. I have my next hospital treatment on Monday so he will stay here to take me to that but then go back to Nottingham for a few days. We can't even trust BIL to go around in the evenings and run the hoover around after people have traipsed wet leaves, etc. into the house, DZH wants to be there to do that so the house looks it best. BIL will have to step up to the plate for a while after that as we are away visiting DSD1 next weekend and then on holiday for a week from the 17th.
It's just been a very physically and emotionally draining time.
