I know what I would do.

  1. Buy a 5 bedroom house so we all get our own room, big garden so James could have a dog.
  1. Get private medical insurance so we never again have to await scans and results.
  1. Buy Shabs a villa in Faliraki.
  1. Throw a big party for all my lovely lovely mad mums on here.
  1. Treat myself to highlights.
  1. Buy bags and bags of M&S choccy nuts!

Please do s'cuse my French in advance

They did it.

They fucking did it.

Fucking arseholes.

They buried the ashes in MIL's garden without DP. Everyone else there, except him. Because he didn't reply to the text they sent him an hour in advance. His phone was off, it was at home, we were at a cafe with our children. Fucking arseholes.

DP is very sad about it.

It was:

(a) too soon for him
(b) not a good location, her GARDEN??? Its not a nice garden, and what happens when she sells up? (we all agreed they would be scattered when we were all there, at a date and time to be agreed)
(c) he hadn't even seen the ashes as SIL has had them
(d) highly fucking insensitive and particularly on Father's day
(e) downright rude to go ahead without him

DP has done more than the lion's share of sorting through his dad's estate and organising the funeral. He did most of it and included his brother and sister at every step. Fucking arseholes.

I was on a knife edge with them all anyway (FIL was the only one I truly liked) and this, for me, is unforgiveable.

I have a long thread of tolerance but once it has been snapped, I'm afraid I can never forgive. And I never will. It was just plain wrong.

Sorry girls, I just have to say this somewhere.

frumpygrumpy · 22/06/2009 22:04

Hi Ruby, I missed it too, don't worry doll

shabster · 22/06/2009 22:52

OMG Frumpster - that is sooooooooooooo wrong - Im pissed off hacked off for you. I wouldn't ever, ever, put my kids through something like that - even if, God forbid, we had fallen out.

Im suprised you were as restrained as you were in your post.

That is truly, truly awful

Good morning girls xx

frumpygrumpy · 23/06/2009 09:42

Morning Shabs.

I think what I find hardest is that, I don't have a fantastic relationship with them all but it is totally tolerable and polite. DP, on the other hand, has a normal relationship with them and he can't understand why they would go ahead and do it without him.

I'm so deeply angry about it but in a quiet way. I can't rant about it because it would hurt him more to hear me say it and its not really my place to seek them out and tell them how hurt he is.

But believe me, if the opportunity presented itself, and I hope it does, then I will say black is black and tell them (politely) that it was extremely wrong and hurtful and tell them that he is too damn polite to tell them how bad he feels about it.

He feels he can never agree to sell his mum's house (when the time comes, and if she hasn't already) knowing his father's grave is in the back garden.

The location is wrong.
And the timing is wrong.

Its so fucking wrong

Apologies for the French.

And now to clear the house from top to toe, have a gym class with the DTs and then ANOTHER viewing. Did one yesterday so the place is clean but somehow messy again.

OK off into our local town to meet Ems and Lew. Em starts at her new nursery this afternoon.....she is very nervous. No more early morning babysitting - she is working 1pm - 6pm. She was at her previous nursery for almost 9 years so this is a big change for her.

Weirdly enough it is the nursery that Dan and Matt went to. The headmistress remembered both of the boys and was thrilled to see Dan again - she hadn't seen him for almost 17 years.

Hope this is the beginning of a wonderful time for Em - she is very good at her job.

Not sure what Lew will think of the change around in hours but we will survive it - all will be well xxx

frumpygrumpy · 23/06/2009 16:33

How exciting! It'll be hard for her not to compare but the change in routine will have good bits.....no more early morning wake up for Em if Lew has been up in the night.

I'm twiddling my thumbs awaiting my viewers, everything is hidden beautifully, you wouldn't know anyone lived here [gottabekiddinman] MN is something you can do and it makes NO mess!!

FG you are an example on self restraint. I would go mad and tell them, I can't stand to have things like that eating away at me and it'd just pour out. How's dp doing?

Don't suppose anyone has one right blue Clark's shoe size 3f going spare? DS3 lost his somewhere this morning and I've fruitlessly retraced every step. He's housebound (and confined to baby carrier outdoors) as punishment until I source a replacement pair . I wish shoes grew on trees.

shabster · 23/06/2009 22:35

Not here sweetheart!! I have, however, got a pair of Black Clarkes school shoes - size 2 and a half H - they are sooooooooooooooo tired looking - have lasted Tom from September last year.

H'lo darlings xxxx. Ruby, you ok?

I'm totally exhausted but today I had a lovely thing! It was the awards ceremony.....DD1 got her award, in front of hundreds of people, and I had a big chest swell. It was lovely, she looked so happy with herself and walked tall across the stage to shake hands. I had only just heard about MJ 10 minutes before we left and felt totally whacked about that so it was a wonderful distraction from wanting to put up camp in front of the box.

What can I say about MJ, loss of an icon. An icon he will remain. So misunderstood. So naive, so trusting and so daft. So talented and so bereft of wisdom. A few weeks ago I was talking about interesting vinyl.....Thriller was one of the vinyl bits I'd really love. I got it on cassette and played it until it fell apart (I still have the case ). I had to play it in my parents garage on a cassette player because everyone was sick of me playing it in the house over and over and over and over and over. Poor manboy. Always the good die young.

Anyway, I am a proud mama tonight and I took DD1 for lunch, just the two of us. And now I must hug my children before they sleep. That is a very important part of the day.

Back later to catch up, hope you are all well.
