I know what I would do.

  1. Buy a 5 bedroom house so we all get our own room, big garden so James could have a dog.
  1. Get private medical insurance so we never again have to await scans and results.
  1. Buy Shabs a villa in Faliraki.
  1. Throw a big party for all my lovely lovely mad mums on here.
  1. Treat myself to highlights.
  1. Buy bags and bags of M&S choccy nuts!

Shabs, did I hear right?

Derkster bought you new clothes?
Is he after a bit of slap and tickle?
What a lovely thing for him to do!!!! Does that mean you are now kitted out all gorgeous for the gorgeous one? Or do you have bits still to get.

FWIW, we go on holiday in about 5 weeks and I am slightly panicking because amongst moving house, renting this one, DTs birthday shopping, sports day, ill people, a million concerts at DD1's school etc etc, I haven't given the hoiday requirements one single thought. And its bad. The DTs fit nothing of last years clothes. Well, maybe the hats.......

shabster · 10/06/2009 16:59

For many, many years (since Gareth died in 1982) I have been obese. I am still very overweight but about 7 stone lighter (it has taken 10 years to shift it). DH's way of 'helping' is to keep commenting about the way I look. I decided that I did not deserve new clothes because I was so fat. It sounds pathetic now but that was how I felt. I always have everyones cast offs and never new stuff.

I would like some new shoes (with wedges!!) but if I cant have them then so be it!

As for being ready for the gorgeous one well....a girl can dream xx

MarsLady · 10/06/2009 18:34

Hey ladies. GCSEs nearly done so should get some PC time by 2022!

frumpygrumpy · 10/06/2009 20:30

Just please explain. You feel fat.........and you don't deserve new clothes? I don't see the connection. You feel fat, ok I accept that feeling because I get that feeling too. But not to deserve new clothes??????? My god woman, you MORE than deserve it!!!

That is a direct relationship to self-esteem. If you don't mind me saying this - what I read is that you blame yourself for losing Gareth and Matt and this is part of the way of punishing yourself.

You can't be blamed. You didn't make it happen.

Now, talk to me about wedges

shabster · 10/06/2009 21:26

never thought of it like that Frumpster. If I dont look in the mirror I think I am ok....BUT...I really dont care what other people think of me, if they dont like what they see then sod 'em!!

BUT I feel very enormous and very old. In fact I feel very weird just right now!

All will be well....all will be well. If you opened my wardrobe you would never guess an overweight womans clothes were in there! I love deep pink, burnt orange, and any shade of green. Hardly any black in there.

I need wedge shoes that are comfy and can cope with walking up the hill to the Venezia!! Incidentally when you go up the hill in a taxi your ears pop

I think Im homesick for my Greek family...I can smell the sunshine if you know what I mean. We walk down the hill every night to Bar Street (nowhere near as bad as it is made out to be) we call in our favourite bars and then walk along the beach....ahhhhhhhh everything is crossed for a small lotto win tonight

shabster · 10/06/2009 21:28

...and, yes, you are right I do feel it is all my fault...dont think that will ever change.

shabster · 10/06/2009 21:33

This is how my soul feels tonight

shabster · 10/06/2009 21:43

shabster · 11/06/2009 09:01

Fantastic news about H Trips - well done to all of you

shabster · 11/06/2009 09:02

Teasleep - Im having to 'waft' my face now with a rolled up copy of the News of the World.....OMG Nikos, builders boots and a G&T what more could a owd girl ask for .......

Snorris · 11/06/2009 09:41

Trips, that's lovely news .

I am now stuck with the image of Nikos (not that I know what he actually looks like) wearing nothing but builders boots . Well that's certainly cheered me up!!!

I don't want to say too much here as my sister is also a Mnetter and it's easier to keep things from those close to you. I am just struggling with my life in general at the moment, I can email/FB if you want to know more.

Shabs, I can definitely identify with the clothes 'thing'. I have lost 2 stone since the end of Feb by going to Slimming World but I am still size 18/20 (ample bobos ). I have binned a lot of my old clothes that are now too big but when I go shopping I hate the way a lot of things look on me . Where's Gok when you need him? . Of course the more expensive stuff looks better, I have champagne tastes but a beer budget!!

shabster · 11/06/2009 09:50

Oooohhh Snorris!!! About 6ft 5in, size 15's feet very dark hair - eyes like puddles of chocolate - 26 years old - half Greek, half Albanian......

PS just changed my profile pic on FB - Nikos and our Tom!!!

Snorris · 11/06/2009 10:12

That has definitely cheered me up . Ooh, I've come over all unneccessary . I think need to book myself a holiday!!! .

shabster · 11/06/2009 10:21
