Oh shite poo Tom has just stretched the umbilical cord to almost breaking point!

Tom: OK Mum you dont have to cross me over or walk part of the way with me.

Me: its just that busy road sweetheart it makes me panick!

Tom:

Me: Well I will walk to the end of the street with you and then you can go the rest of the way.

Tom: I will be fine!

So I got my way and walked him to the end of the street, then hid behind the wall and watched him go into the shop, then come out and cross the road as double decker buses speed up and down!! watched him cross then walk up with about 4 lads from his year.

Yes, Yes....I know....he is almost 12 and he is doing the 'normal' thing BUT - OMG please God keep him safe.

triplets · 01/04/2009 08:32

Shabs..............he is a sensible boy, you know that, I too will be facing that in Sept, we have the main Deal/Dover road they will have to cross to walk to school, though they all want to cycle! I will have to let them do it, we let Matthew when he was in year 6 at primary as the two schools are next to each other. What he never knew was that I used to look out of his bedroom window at 3.30pm, by which time he should have been walking through what he always called the "tunnel of trees", sadly like Matthew they have all gone now

triplets · 01/04/2009 08:34

triplets · 01/04/2009 08:35

By the skin of your teeth Miss Rubester.

The rest will be in detention this evening!

Miss Triplets - when you have finished putting the elastic in your knickers in needlework you may go to the cookery rooms and make an apple crumble

shabster · 01/04/2009 09:05

Found the salad Miss Rubester - I never thought such beautiful mould could grow on a piece of lettuce!!!
