FG - how's he doing? I had a really poorly tummy on sunday, agony, spent the day curled up in bed all achey and horrid. Still not myself on Monday but was more or less fine on tues. It hit me why the dcs were all so miserable last week.

Now why oh why did I think it was a good idea to make balloon poodles today for the dts? Of course they decided to take them on the school run, dt2's blew halfway down the hill under a car. We retrieved it, but mutt lost his legs during the operation to save him. Then just as I see the bus coming dt1 lets go of hers. Her little teary eyes as it runs blew off down the hill, no time to retrieve it. Sitting on the bus dt2's makes a fart noise and starts to expire, cue more sadness...till they got back home and found the others I'd made.

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2009 21:36

aw Pixi, what a lovely thing! I wouldn't know where to begin! And so lovely the pups were still waiting at home

DT2 is so much better tonight......who knows what it was. He was in so much pain (and he isn't a complainer when he is ill so I knew it was big for him).

I've been at school. DD1 has a residential school trip coming up and this was the info evening. I haven't told her but my stomach is in knots about it.

where's trips?
did Momma stay in Paris?
shabs......I will re read your list of babysitting worries and come up with some guff words

shabster · 26/02/2009 21:45

Lew came to visit!! I survived it - amazingly well to be honest He is now refusing any jars of baby food and wants everything we are eating. Em made him mashed potato, baked beans and cheese on the top - he loved it!! He keeps doing this really funny licking his two bottom teeth thing!! I told him how 'special' he looks when he does it and he just laughed!

He reminds me of my Grandad who used to kind of suck his false teeth - Ewwwwwwwwwww! We played 'climb up the tv cabinet' till I pulled him down and his favourite game 'lets pull ourself up to standing position against the sofa, coffee table, computer desk - anything really!!

He looks so cute with his denim dungarees on - he is delicious.

Im trying to put any worries out of my mind Frumpster - because I reckon Lew and Gran will be just fine. I've done this raise a little boy thing 4 times already - this is going to be a 'walk in the park'

shabs.........I suspect you are in love doll

shabster · 26/02/2009 22:09

You are right my love - I fell in love with a much younger man on June 8th, 2008.

shabster · 26/02/2009 22:24

shabs, were you left on a doorstep on the odd side of the road? I was left on the even side

I seem to be getting myself into a no-win argument on the Jack Tweed thread. Tell me to quit now and shut down.

shabster · 26/02/2009 22:38

I am going to have a nosey on the thread and will let you know asap!

I was most definitly on the wrong side - have always been a bit 'wrong' xx

OP posts:
shabster · 26/02/2009 22:45

Frumpster - I would quit and leave it!!! I agree with what you are trying to say and I agree with the more polite posters who have the opposite view. The trouble is the MN arseholes argumentative folk who would say black was white just to have a row will soon be on and then I will have to go on and tell them to piss off stop ganging up on my mate Frumpster.

Then I will get very sarcastic and start calling people names, 'who are not there to defend themselves' and then I will get banned again and then...............

Just thought I would let you know that I am having a rather grand menopausal hot flush - oh yes I am one very, very hot owd bird

I walked Shabs. It wasn't hard. So many people have really tiny minds that don't allow for thinking outside the box. If I lived my life inside the box I'd fucking die within an hour.

Being that odd mix of genius/madness, I get all the pain but I get all the upside too. [twitch]

shabster · 26/02/2009 23:01

I havent got much time for Jade - never have had but I knew where you were coming from.

Today Danny rang to check how Lew was. Em put her phone on loudspeaker. Lewis listened to his Daddys voice then got the phone and kissed it and smiled.

shabster · 26/02/2009 23:02

OMG that sounded very heartless and nasty...I just am not very keen on her but I wouldnt wish her illness on my very worst enemy

OP posts:
frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2009 23:13

thats totally fine Shabs. My point was not really specific to her and her man. It was a hippie/bohemian/love the one you're with kind of a chat. I have never taken the fashionable line in anything and I am so proud of myself for that. In fact, i have never uttered those words before

I just think that we all bleed the same blood and that if we just took time to................."what is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare"

hold on, I'll link it, I love this poem

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2009 23:14

WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare??

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

WH Davies

shabster · 26/02/2009 23:23

I love that poem as well.

Im watching UK Gold while I am on here. Watching the Royal Family - the episode where Nana dies....it made me almost wet myself both crying and laughing the first time I saw it and its doing the same again tonight.

Scarlet Ribbons

When I was poorly, as a little girl, my mum would tuck me in, give me medicine and sing this to me. It features all the way through this episode of the Royal Family.

OP posts:
frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2009 23:33

I LOVE THE ROYLE FAMILY!!!! We are so related.

When will they make a new episode? Was there a special this Christmas? I adore that programme. It epitomises everything that is important about life. That we think on one level, and with all its frivolity, but that we connect on another level, and with all its fragility. And it is the poor who do not understand that the two can live in harmony.

shabster · 26/02/2009 23:44

There was a special but it wasnt great. Anthony wasnt in it or Nana. Just Denise, Dave, Jim and Barbara. We are like the Royal Family when we are all together!!!

OP posts:
shabster · 26/02/2009 23:50

Notice that the baby has SCARLET RIBBONS in her hair!

OK Frumpster I will wish you a very Good Night. Thanks for your company - as fantastic as always.......I told Danny about you linking me up to Hue and Cry the other night......he just grinned and said 'OMG Mum that makes me think of Linda so much' as he packed the buggy in the back of the car and sorted out Lew and Em he was singing 'never stop looking, never stop looking for Linda.'

He texted me later and said 'Tell Frumpy thanks very much I cant get that dam song out of my head '
