Do you know any triplets, quads or more?

My midwife said in her 35 year career she's only ever delivered quadruplets once, and had less than 20 triplets.

It got me thinking, how common are they? And what kind of life would you have being one of many? Do you know of any, young or adult?

I know of two sets in “real life” and knew one lovely lady on here who had triplets.

I went to school with a set of quads and my son went to preschool with a set of triplets.

I went to school with a set of triplets and a set of twins. Know one other set of twins too.

A friend's nephews are triplets. My Aunt, her husband's sister has quads

I have a friend who’s one of quads - they are all really close. He’s the only one I’ve ever come across!

My best friend at primary school’s mum had triplets. They were her 4,5 and 6th children. They had an amazing life! I was about 10 when they were born and remember it really well.

Both sets of triplets are identical.

DH works with 2 of triplet women (the other works for another employer) who would be in their late 50s.
I was at primary school with identical triplet boys in the early 1970s.
A relative introduced us to a new girlfriend who was a triplet too. She would also be in her 50s now.

All of these pre-date fertility treatments as we know them now.

i know few twins and one set of identical triplets
the triplets were born to a surrogate and are brought up by a single dad. I don’t think he was expecting three.

Triplets go to DD's school, 3 teenage boys.

I've never taught triplets in 20 years of teaching.

I know two sets of triplets and met a third set years ago in 1995 (Mum worked at my workplace before I worked there and came back for a visit with her babies but I can't remember her name and didn't actually know her - funny to think they are 27 now).

All three sets are 3 x boys.

Not triplets or quads but at one point our primary school had four sets of twins at the same time. The primary school only had 25 pupils at the time so it ended up in the local paper

I know a set of triplets who are in their early 60's.

Know loads of twins but think they are much more common...

I know of some because I'm on a multiples group on FB but I just can't even begin to imagine how you get through those early months. It's a blur with the same number kids as hands, let alone twice as many kids!!

I was once in a laundry room in a French campsite where two mums of naturally conceived triplets were comparing battle stories. One set were toddlers, the other seven year olds. I was in awe of them - it sounded really tough for both families, for different reasons. And, having been trying for over two years for my second child, something must have been in the air as I came home from that holiday pregnant :)

When my daughter was younger I knew of 3 different sets of triplets we sometimes saw in the park.
One set were identical and the parents dressed them the same.
I remember them being in the park once with their granny and granny's friend. They were probably about age 3.
They all had matching backpacks and the friend handed one to one of the boys and he said "no this one is Joe's bag" and the friend looked at Granny and said "which one is Joe?".
The Granny just shrugged "no idea".

They must be about age 15 now - hopefully Granny has figured out which is which.

DD is in a year group if 45. There is one set of triplets and two sets of twins.

My best friend is a triplet.

There was a set of triplets in the year above me at school (60 people).

When I quit teaching ~13 years ago, I had at least one twin in every class, but I don't think I ever taught triplets.

There were two sets of triplets in the village I grew up in. One set about 10 years younger than me, the other set probably about 15 years younger than me. There’s another set who grew up in a neighbouring village, age wise about in the middle of the other two, they all went to the same high school.

DD had triplet girls in her class.

A family near me had quads a few years ago, it was national news. I don’t think I’ve ever come across or heard of any others.

I went knew someone who was a triplet, they were one of the early IVF surrogacy babies. I never met her triplets but they all seemed happy and successful and she was very proud of where she came from. She showed me a picture of her aunt (who carried them) when she was pregnant- absolutely tiny woman with the biggest bump I’ve ever seen
