Do you know any triplets, quads or more?

My midwife said in her 35 year career she's only ever delivered quadruplets once, and had less than 20 triplets.

It got me thinking, how common are they? And what kind of life would you have being one of many? Do you know of any, young or adult?

My neighbour had triplets, she's around 60 now. I've seen her daughters, they don't really look alike.

She said she didn't sit down until they were three basically.

I have a friend who has triplets, twins (who are surviving triplets), twins, and a singleton. She's busy!

Wow @wyntersuhn I bet she is! I can imagine it's incredibly challenging, but I'm kinda envious too...!

So interesting! Lots of triplets in this thread, I also wondered if anyone is referring to the same set of triplets, yet they knew of a different person within the set! ☺️

I don't think anyone knows a Quad? I see there's lots of Instagram! Imagine 4 babies.
My midwife told me only those who have more than 4 (so quintuplets) are given any help!!!!!

I have non-identical triplet cousins (grown up now) conceived via IVF. I'm about 10 years older and still remember the excitement of looking after real "dolls"!

There is a cute picture of us pushing a triplet pushchair around and another of me spoon feeding them in turn when they must have been around a year.

They were quite rare then I think as IVF was still fairly new.

@julz87 I think there was someone in the comments who said they went to school with a quad. I had a client with quads, but didn't get to meet the kids sadly! I think they'd be about 20 now.

I knew someone about 15 years ago. She had two children who were early teens and they had been trying for a third child for 10+ years.
She had ivf overseas somewhere. Had Triplets. Then naturally fell pregnant about 3 months later! So for about 2 weeks of the year all four children were the same age.

How come this family isn't famous? It's so incredibly unusual. I feel sure we would all have heard of them.

How do you know they haven’t had media attention? There is more than one family that have.

I know of someone who is a quad. I’ve only known her in later life so have never met her siblings and don’t know her well. They’re in their 40s now I’d guess.

@LindorDoubleChoc he was in his fifties when I worked with him so I guess the children were born in the seventies or eighties. There may have been media attention when they were born but not like today. He wasn’t a man who would have looked for it anyway - a very low key person.

I have a set of triplets.It is more common in assisted pregnancies than normal conceptions and hardly ever full term as the weight becomes very heavy.Mine were 30weeks old and spent some time in ICU/NICU.

I know a set of triplets in their 70s now. I've know them 40 years and still can't tell them apart!
I know one other set in their 40s, again identical.

Never met a set of Quads. Know about 3 sets of triplets, including two sets where the DM conceived unintentionally.
