shabster · 09/02/2008 11:26

accordiongirl · 09/02/2008 11:33

Welcome fizzy, shabby go to the naughty step for saying you don't belong here, travelling-to-south-west ladies let us know you're arrived safely.
Whatever happened to the gritty-teeth twin btw? Sorry, can't remember who he belongs to...

shabster · 09/02/2008 11:34

shabster · 09/02/2008 11:42

accordiongirl · 09/02/2008 12:15

Shabby sounds to me like you need a picture of my boy today wearing his little chicks waistcoat from ebay, but DP's hassling me to go out so now you'll just have to wait, sorry!

HarrogateMum · 09/02/2008 12:27

right ladies - get over to the meet up thread - I have booked one room for me and dingdong - come on, lets get this party booked!

PazzaPlusTwo · 09/02/2008 14:31

Spring has sprung! It's a fabulously gorgeous day out there and I am inside waiting to get my gas meter changed, thereby escaping the worst of the effects of the fresh air. And listening to Ivor Cutler (who I stole that line off) ... anyone else heard of Ivor?

Welcome fizzy ... welcome to the madhouse house of fun

xxP

shabster · 09/02/2008 14:45

PP2 - just had a nosey in your profile. where did you used to live in Manchester?

scan pictures are amazing you lucky lady - not long now?

shabster · 09/02/2008 14:48

Harrogatemum - just mentioned the get together to DH - think he said something along the lines of 'I would love to have YOUR DS all weekend'

HarrogateMum · 09/02/2008 14:59

oh shabster, its only one night tell him!! you could be gone for less than 24 hours!!

shabster · 09/02/2008 15:06

24 minutes would be too long for him!! mard arse - will work on him or kill him off whichever takes my fancy

Not getting divorced cause neither of us wants custody of DS!!!!

shabster · 09/02/2008 15:08

HM - hold the get together at the Venezia Hotel in Falaraki, Rhodes!!

Then I can dust off my thong and tassels and show you how to pole dance much to the amusement of Nikos (the delightful barman)

PazzaPlusTwo · 09/02/2008 15:59

Shabster I was dragged up in Cheadle Hulme (boring delightful leafy suburb) and then lived in Rusholme and Hulme. Still miss the northwest... especially on the odd occasion when it properly rains in London. Who'da thought you could get sentimental about rain?!

What's with Falaraki - do you live in Rhodes or in Bolton, lady?

shabster · 09/02/2008 16:29

Sadly in Bolton!! We have been 6 times to the same hotel - boring maybe for some - but DS is in his element there. If he's happy.......

We know all the staff, lots of the local people, taxi drivers etc etc. They have a Macdonalds there and the staff know exactly what I'm going to order before I get to the counter!! Ive just read this message and what a classy bird am I - NOT

If I had my way I would live in Falaraki with no worries whatsoever. Have even learnt a little Greek - yammas

shabster · 09/02/2008 16:30

Please dont miss the North West

It is like Beuirut without the sun!

PazzaPlusTwo · 09/02/2008 16:56

Ha - then London is like the northwest with a smidgen more sun but without a sense of humour!

you're right, easy to be nostalgic...

HarrogateMum · 09/02/2008 17:21

Pazza I just noticed on your profile one of your fave books is Small Island - am just in the middle of it and loving it! Have you read any of Andrea Levy's other books? I have friends that grew up in the Cheadle Hulme area....Bramall/Romiley etc. At least I think they are near each other arent they?

Shabster - you know the only time I have ever been stopped for speeding was in Bolton......I was trying to find the bloody football stadium....

shabster · 09/02/2008 18:43

I bet you weren't speeding - bet you had knocked someones whippet down or gone over the cobbled streets too fast!!

We had a pub in Stanmore, Middlesex in the 80's and I hated living there - they were all proper posh and there favourite saying was 'I hate bladdy norfuners'

PazzaPlusTwo · 09/02/2008 18:46

HM - Small Island is brilliant isn't it. I didn't want it to end. I haven't read any of her other books yet. Any other suggestions? I'm now bored of the pregnancy books and need a rockin good tale.

Bramall is right next to Cheadle Hulme, Romiley is a little bit further away.

I stayed in all day and the sodding gas man didn't turn up. I even rang to confirm this morning. Curses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Momma & Norris, thank you so much for dragging your DCs all the way out here. It was lovely to meet you both and DS1 floated to bed on a high after having a real proper big boy to play with. DD1 had a little whine when your girls left Norris, she said she loves those big girls of yours. .

Oooggs, sorry to hear Erin is still poorly, hope she's brighter in the morning and you get a good night of rest.

Mars, I'm sorry to hear your news about your dad. Of course if there's anything we can do let us know.

AGirl / Pazza Meet up today was for DS1's birthday, I invited everyone on here, but location is remote farm near Exeter.

FG come back we need you.

Hello to the newbies and not so newbies.

HarrogateMum · 09/02/2008 19:34

Pazza - books I have read and enjoyed recently are The Girls by Lori Lansens, Silver Bay by Jojo Moyes, and Popco by Scarlett Thomas. Each to their own taste of course but they were all enjoyable in different ways.

Shabs - hope you have a great night tonight!

Momma, I am so that you have met pixi and norris, pleased you all had fun!

Oooggs hope Erin feels better soon.

I am cooking smoked haddock in cheese sauce and the aromas are drifting through. YUM. DH is wandering round in his underpants as he says he is "hot", what a sight to behold!
